• Re: What kind of diode is this?

Maybe someone pressed CN5 too hard and physically broke the glass of the diode. Upon powerup, it shorted and burned ?

• Re: Panasonic TC-P60ST30 - 7 blinks, then 8

Judging by your description of the issue and randomness of the issue, I would check all soldering on the PS and su board. If everything is OK, check the connectors and the capacitors.
It looks like a bad contact somewhere, but that's just a starting point for your search. A lot more details are needed if you want the very experienced guys here to help.

• Re: Component Identification Panasonic TC-P50S2 D482

Judging by the fact that Q16451 (GT45G128) near the diode is rated 430V 200A, I would assume that the diode is also the 430V variant.

• Re: Panasonic Plasma fault

Attached you can find a service manual for the 42" version of the VT30E variant. Keep in mind that the E in VT30E stands for Europe, so yours may be a bit different in the power supply area (I imagine you do not have the European variant).
Schematic-wise it should be similar to what you have but do not take the data as 100% since I don't know what differences can be between them.
At least you can get a better understanding (if you have the skills) as to what does what and where/why.

• Re: Panasonic Plasma fault

That's the way to go. It would help you a lot if you find the proper schematic for your TV or board and check the values of the resistors against the schematic values.
Check all diodes and transistors, including those smaller ones that are not "power parts".

• Re: Panasonic Plasma fault

I had a short private chat with @boomtheroom before he started this topic and I tried to help him since he had the same problem as me: bought a kit, worked for some time and blew up again.
I suggested the replacement with FGD's from monitor09 and he did that.

I support @Morenos83's advice to re-check everything on the board(s). It is very possible that you have some resistor or capacitor out of spec and it messes with the end result.
Also, don't forget to clean the screws, screw pads and TV chassis contact points as...

• Re: Panasonic TC-P50G10. 6 blinks to 7 blinks.

I would also check the power supply board, as many times it happens that SC board failures take out a fuse and maybe some transistors on the power supply.
I don't remember the SOS circuitry right now, but I imagine that in case of no power supply to the SC board, the SOS acts as SC failed or is missing, hence SOS7.

• Re: Black horizontal lines on Samsung plasma TV

I am no specialist, especially on Samsungs, but am I the only one that thinks those black horizontal lines are from the panel to buffer connectors not being seated correctly ? The lines sure look identical to my lines when this was the problem on my plasma...

• Re: whole new repair / learning world... plasma! Yikes!

I know I'm not fit to give advice, especially to you but I like to share my experiences with others just in case they did not read my topic:
In my case, after using fake parts and blowing them up, they took out Q451 under the radiator which was measuring OK before the fakes. This caused my 7 blinks to go to 6 blinks. On my board it was a DG302 but you may find a RJP there depending on the manufacture year of the board. Just replace it with a FDG and it should resurrect to live once more.
Also don't forget to...

• Re: Panasonic Viera TX-P42VT30E TNPA5330 blown

I'm happy to report that the kit DG302 transistor holds up just fine, the TV is still working great after these few days. I imagine that if it was to break, it would have done so by now.

• Re: Help with LED brake lights

I can imagine. I must give some credit to the user(s) that said we will become Renault engineers if we fix this... BTW, if you find us annoying insisting with this topic, tell us and we move to private conversation but that kinda' throws away the "discussions forum" idea.
Back OnTopic:
1. Did you eliminate the other 2 light bulbs from the sockets when you tried on the car?
2. Did you observe if the light was dim or bright (compared to what you observed in the bench test) ? If yes, it may be that the bulb has reversed contacts...

• Re: Help with LED brake lights

But in my opinion this behavior should be corrected by installing a diode on the brake light line, before it splits to the three light sockets. That way, when the computer or brake switch (whichever is grounding that signal wire) will not be able to force the wire to ground.
If this causes a problem with the smarter part of the circuitry, a resistor in parallel with the diode should help sense "some" ground, but the resistor needs to be of higher resistance than the internal resistor used in the LED bulb so it does not interfere with...

• Re: Help with LED brake lights

Bummer!
No light on brakes, I get. Bu no light on the other "filament" ? That should be straight 12V, no protections, no crap.
Further studying of this matter taught me that there are different variations of control relays, ones that are simple ON OFF, ones that ground the live wire on OFF positions, etc.
It seems you have the later option installed in the car, the kind that grounds the OFF position. Or am I wrong?

Since this is a Resistor Help thread, I encourage you to read other TNPA5330 or TNPA5335 threads on this forum for more info or start a new thread if your problems do not appear to fit the other scenarios, to further investigate/solve your problem.

Yes you could, but I strongly suggest you check the board for more damage as I suspect there are more shorted parts than the "usual" 6 FETs in your case.
I may be wrong but extensive checking cannot hurt, whilst not enough will surely hurt your board or maybe even other boards.

In the pictures that you provided I see that you used RJP's, If you got them from EBay or AliExpress they have a strong chance of them being fakes....

• Re: Need resistor help

Just yesterday I saved my TV (TX-P42VT30E) from 7 blinks of death by replacing those FETs.
Did you get the transistors from a kit? If you did, most likely you got some fakes.
It happened to me too, bought a kit, replaced them, TV worked for about one hour then they blew up.
Then I got them from a local Panasonic authorized service for about the same as the price of the kit, put them in and now my TV is alive

That resistor shows in the repair manual as:
R16601 D0GF1R0JA047 M 1 OHM,J,1/3W
Your reading shows 20.38Mohms, so it's broken. Mohm stands for Milions of ohms...
I am sure you have more than this simple resistor to fix, there's a reason it blew up like that...
Here's the manual for P55GT30. Maybe it's useful...

Usually the variants ST30, GT30 and VT30 are very similar but not identical.
And yes, dick_barton is right, you want to "read" 16 in the schematics...

Indeed, great colors, beautiful image. There are some slight burn-in marks in the corners, where the channel logos usually sits and in the bottom area where the subtitles are, but not visible under normal watching conditions. They do show up tho on a full white picture...

That was the first thing I did after taking out the boards. Indeed, scorching occurred on all three planes of contact, the metal chassis, the board and the screws undersides. Cleaned the chassis and the screws with sand paper and took out the...

• Re: Panasonic Viera TX-P42VT30E TNPA5330 blown

Thanks for the tip about SS-boards, I'll keep an eye out in case of repeated problems.

Hopefully final update:

TV ran ok until now (about 4 hours). Re-assembled everything, started up, all ok.
Temperature in the area of the FETs is about 30-35degC at case surface, 35 with very bright pictures and a lot of ambient light (outside of the TV, K thermocouple taped to case).
Hopefully that DG302 from the shitty kit will hold, as I am sick and tired of taking out all those screws...
