I have removed lots of tv panels but not a good 70" tv panel and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to remove it. I will have 3 of trying to remove the panel put I am afraid of damaging it.

I would guess he wants to fix the backlight.
Given that i have just done a partially cracked 55" (for cleaning the dust that some other guy who had previously opened it up put in) and got away with it without cracking the panel any worse than it was, here's what i would do:
After you get the metal frame removed and the tabs taped to the panel so as not to damage them, tape the LCD glass wherever possible, to the plastic frame that holds the polarizers in place. Be careful not to tape over any tabs. I used a layer of masking tape over the sides of the screen, then applied regular adhesive tape on top of that, this was done as to not have to clean all the glue residue from the LCD afterwards.
Then unclip the frame (you may have to cut the clips off or use cards and such to keep them from clipping back in, i was able to remove it without cutting the clips, but it wasn't fun), and using rubber gloves, lift the screen from the middle, you will have to put your hands on the inside of the LCD glass to support it but if you will be wearing gloves there will be no problem with fingerprints or smudges. Pulling the screen off complete with the plastic frame as described, will have the frame supporting it at the sides, so you can just grab it from the middle and not worry about any bending or bowing. If you try to grab it from the sides it will bow in the middle and may crack, so don't do that.
For a 70" i think you will definitely need 2 people doing this. I did the 55" by myself but it was a lot of work, and i thought i'd snapped the panel in half at least 10 times... Fortunately i got it back together, and now i have a still-cracked but clean TV.
I wanted to do this one, despite having a slightly cracked panel, because it is the biggest set i have right now and want to hold onto it until i get a better one, and the crack is a weird one - the screen is cracked at the left top side, but the whole area still displays fine, there's just this hairline crack running thru it. I would guess that the crack is in a supporting layer, not in the TFT itself. Lucky.

Some new tvs have an LCD screen attached to the outside of the frame with foam tape. These are "edge to edge" as they are called. I am trying to figure out how to reattach an LCD panel back up to the frame. The manufacturer used 3/16 inch foam tape along the top and rh/lh edges. I used a razor blade to separate the panel from the metal frame. The metal frame that the panel is taped to is 1/4 inch wide along the 2 sides and top. I completely removed the residue from the metal frame. There is some residue on the panel itself along the 3 edges, I removed almost all of it using alcohol and... -
Problem
This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached.... -
TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.
tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board.... -
I had a the above tv qn55q60r that had a bad panel but everything else good. I had another panel here from un55nu6900 with bad leds and melted diffusers.
I put the nu6900 panel in and powered it up and it does work but there are lines vertical lines.
I was trying to change the panel type in the service menu but don’t see my exact panel. Anyway to fix this or someone have similar experience.

I have a TCL 55P6US with sound and backlight but no picture. This model does not have a T-CON board, and the right (rear perspective) panel board is fed from the left panel board. I have not been able to induce any change by disconnecting the secondary panel board or the tape cut-off method on the primary board.
There are a bunch of voltages missing on the panel boards. I can't find any shorted caps of the panel boards, and all of the missing voltage rails read in the kiloohms, which leads me to suspect the issue may lie on the circuit board, rather than a short in the panel.
