I will break her down this weekend and explore the possibilities. I also didn't get a chance to call shopjimmy today but hopefully tomorrow. Thank you all so much!

ShopJimmy does not have them. Well the lady I talked to said they didn't have anything that looked like them. I will strip TV down to individual leds and see if I can find info on voltage, size and color. Thanks again to you all.
      Much love,

Ok, I take it back. There is One long strip on the top of the chassis, there are wires that come from led driver board. Nothing like I've seen in any of the videos though.

Thanks, already watched the first and third video but hadn't found that second link you gave me and I think it's the best one for my situation! Thank you very much. I'm going to order a led tester tomorrow. Hopefully sometime this week I can figure out what kind of leds I need to find. There are a lot of them.

I'm having a hard time finding less like this. They are like double less on each little piece. Is there a name of such an led? I was also wondering, could the whole 55 nch TV just be replaced with any type of edge light that is the same size, like a newer brand or type? Picture of the less is above in post 64.

Good question, I wonder if it's possible to rig up the 12 volt kind they sell for ambient lighting? they sure cost less, they come in 5050,3528, 5630 etc, might require too much modification tho if possible.

LEDs are identified/named by their size in mm. Width first then height.
Maybe yours are 7030 but a closer photo of the LEDs would help.

Far easier to find the right LED and replace than try to get a strip from another TV to fit, the voltage/current would have to be the same and the connector also.

Nomoresonys, I was thinking more in the line of 3 volt from another tv.

Diif, I didn't even think of the plug in type. I will get a closer picture of them when I get home in a couple hours. I've watched the videos on how to get the led strip off, been afraid to try. I received the led meter but I need to get a magnifying glass because I can't read any of the lettering on it. Great input guys, thanks so much.

Hi everyone! I plugged in the number on the steel bar that holds the leds and voila! I got ebay items coming up that represent the leds!!!

74.55T02.001-3-DX1 is on the bar and 551A04 is right on led strip

                              https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-PCS-72-LE...0AAOSwZW5aFsC2

Think I'll try this unless anyone has had experiences that tell me not to.

                              Whatcha think???

PS, they say they are for philips tvs, does phillips make insignia?

can anyone tell me how to test this type of strip? I brought an led tester. I see the little dots near the end where the plug is. If it's not plugged into electricity, do I take a chance of ruining them all if I touch the wrong thing? Thanks so much!

I would hook the wires up to the strip and test the strip right at the female LED connector that has the red wire and the bunch of black wires on it.

Awesome, that's what I did. Out of the 72 leds, only one is out. Will that short them all out. Is there a way to see all of them on at once with the tester?

So now I'll just sit and wait for the leds to ship from china. I hope it doesn't take a month but that seems to be the usual for me.

Please don't forget me when I check back in a few weeks. Hopefully with a TV that is working.

Again, Thank you all so much!

PS, is there something I can do to take away the constant urge of wanting to take apart all of my TVs??? hehe

I am heartbroken. The part came in from China today. I replaced the Edge lighting strip on the right because that was the side that had one LED that didn't work. The other Edge strip, on the left, all LEDs worked. Finally got it all back together. Turned it on and it does the exact same thing. Lights pop on, then off. Can still see the menu with flashlight test, but no TV. Is there anything else that might cause the lights to pop on and off. Could it be shorting somewhere? ...well besides the LED strip?
Thank you all for your help so far, hopefully one of you have run in to this before.
