    Philips 26pfl5302d/37 dead

Hi picked up this tv for free

    No standby light

    Wont power on

    Seems dead

Power supply caps all visually look ok....i get 5v standby voltage to the front led board....if i 5v standby but the standby light is not on i,would imagine its a bad main?...

did some brief research seems this tv had common main board issue....the 26pfl 32pfl 42pfl 5322 5332 5302 series

    Any input on this?

"i get 5v standby voltage to the front led board....if i 5v standby but the standby light is not on i,would imagine its a bad main?..." That is the right direction, and you probably do not have switched 24V output either.

            Re: Philips 26pfl5302d/37 dead

The ps pins are not labeled ....but i tested all the pins and only can get a 5v standby only....if i recall there may have been a couple lower voltage like .2 or 3v but not sure....i just know i did get a 5v and nothing higher

I the found the service manual but is too confusing to me

I do think itbseems to be a main issue rather than ps issue

            I can get a main for $20

So im thinking of buying it once i got an expert opinion like urs

            Thanks

Imwant to fix this tv because its cool looking white body..and its smaller 26 inch and has hdtv tuner built in would be great for kitchen or bedroom and has usb port for pics and music.....this tv has a lot of features....seems like a lot of entry level tvs nowadays are junk made with no features.....ans thats why they are so cheap priced

You have 3A on the main board, and lots of lytics caps.
Check the fuse, try heating and cooling the board and see what happen.
It also has some switching power supplies on that main board and lots of MLCC (Multi Layer Ceramic Cap) I.E 2U22, 2U25, etc. that you should check to see if they show low resistance reading or not.
If you can get schematic that will help a lot.

Thanks...i checked all fuses previously..all good

Also here is a piece of information that may be relevant

I got tv free..when i opened it up the left inverter board and main board were missing all, mounting screws .and all, cables to them were disconnected.....assuming someone previously was working on it...all other boards were mounted properly

So im not sure of what was done

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

Greetings to all, a while ago my TV was dead, it didn't turn on and the standby light was off, the next day it is working. But these days it no longer wants to turn on, I did some troubleshooting, I disconnected the main board, I checked the voltage on the backlight and there is 400 DC, when I connect it again the main board the voltage drops, in all that troubleshooting, miraculously the standby light comes on and the TV works. After an hour I check and test, I turn on the TV, the Stanby light flashes 3 times and it...

Vizio D50u-D1 Dead Set No Standby
                            by fharris1977
Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.

                            LG C1 65'' dead standby
                            by jacobtc
I've owned this C1 from new since late 2021, and it has now suddenly started with the following symptom:
If power has been connected for a while, the red standby lamp turns off, and the tv wont turn on (no reaction from remote or button on tv).
If power has been disconnected for 5 minutes, the tv turns on fine, until turned off and left for a couple minutes, as the standby light will then turn off again.

I've seached and found that this is most likely a failing PSU, and I've seen repair services on eBay fixing these symptoms, so I am hoping that someone here has fixed...
