That tv has spent too much time in Detroit. I should know. I'm from there originally.
That's a panel issue, there was pressure applied to the panel which caused the interior surface to crack between the liquid and the matrix. I would not pick it up it's definitely not worth itDid I leave the soldering iron on? -

I bought it for $10 last night....
Not fixable.....ok
But go to ebay and see how much the parts sell for this tv....very worth the $10
If u look at sold parts for un46d6000 they are in demand and sell at a decent price especially the main boardComment

Definitely get your money back in parts! I always hang on to these things because when I get a repair in that needs it and I don't wanna sit there and troubleshoot a board you've got the advantageDid I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

yes but i got loads of tvs lol......just wasting away...noone even wants a used working lcd tv anymore...or if they want it they will only pay like $50 for a 42 inch or bigger..........they have way more value in parts than the actual tv..its pretty sad
i even have some real old 42 inch plasmas sitting around that need repair from like 2002 or so
gateway and akai lol............they weight about 125 lbs each lolComment

Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same... -
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...
The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...05-26-2024, 12:05 AM -
TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.
tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board.... -

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...
