    Projection TV Double Image

I was just shown a photo of a Zenith projection tv (waiting on full model number and having the photo sent to me) that has a double image for the first 5 seconds or so after turn on.

It is 2 of the same image, one on the top half of the screen, and the other on the bottom half of the screen. Apparently it does this for about 5 seconds and then goes back to normal.

When he explained it over the phone i was sure he was describing RGB Convergence, but it looks nothing like a convergence issue.

Ay thoughts? This is a new one for me.

Thats a CRT tv. However thats a vertical problem.. Probably a failing capacitor on the vertical circuit.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Ok. that makes sooooo much more sense. He said it was a projection and the photo he showed me in person was only the screen.

Ugg, may pass on this one. not sure i want to tear apart and solder things on a CRT in someones living room.

Thanks for the info though. Always appreciated.
