    BN44-00503A no power

I just inherited a nice looking Samsung 55, but it's got no power, no standby light, nothing. Pulled the cover, and the fuse above the power connector is blown. I tried jumping another fuse to it, blew instantly. I'm a backyard, shadetree tinkerer at best, and don't have oodles of gear or experience. Am I best off to send this board in for repair, buy a replacement, or throw in the towel?

Shopjimmy do a replacement power supply for $69.95 or repair kit for $18.77 but you would need to be able to solder small components if you purchase the repair kit.

Never, replace only the fuse and power up the tv.An over current happened that blown the fuse out.Probably, you have one or more shorted components, i would start by checking out the Mosfets and the the 3 pin diodes ( TO package).

Well above my pay grade on this. When I retire in about 10 years I fullwell plan on learning my way around detailed repairs like this, but for now, there's just too much work to do on the new house in my free time. Safe to say it's the power supply board? There's an ebay repair service listed for this board. I also thought about buying a used board, but if this is a common issue I'd hate to buy one and have it fail a month later.
        Thanks
