    Sharp LC-60LE640U Backlight LED's

    Hi,

    I am working a Sharp LC-60LE640U and having a difficult time in finding either a LED strip replacement or individual LED to repair. Does anyone have any suggestions on where the strips can be found or the individual LED's to repair the existing strip?

    The two strips are identified on the back with a label 5227ZZ and 5228ZZ. The individual LED's are 6 volt, qty 68 per strip, running two groups of 17 in parallel on each strip with the power supply utilizing four driver circuits.

    The entire metal plate is stamped GA0361TPZZ. The TV is edge lit with all of the LED's located at the bottom of the panel.

    I have read and searched on here for days, but no joy on finding individual replacements. The closest I have found through either Ebay or other sites is a rating of 150ma, LED P/N GM5FR2ZP20A.

    https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/SHARP...740280331.html

    I have also noted through searching that the expected current for some of these needs to be in the 300 to 400ma range, however my attempts to characterize a good one on the strip seems to indicate a much lower current level, especially if the LED's were operated in their nominal range of 6V.

    Measured values from one LED on strip, voltage drop measured across LED:

    5.8V = 59ma
    6.0V = 72ma
    6.2V = 112ma
    6.4V = 134ma

    As for measuring the power supply output I am not confident of the measured voltages. Since one LED strip had two bad LED's within one channel, that channel was dead and the backlight was only powered momentarily using the hold "Input" and "Vol -" when power was applied. The peak voltages captured with the DMM from high and low in respect to chassis were:

    Chan 1 + = 192V Chan 1 - = 0V
    Chan 2 + = 101V Chan 2 - = 14.4V
    Chan 3 + = 101V Chan 3 - = 13.6V
    Chan 4 + = 101V Chan 4 - = 12.9V

    Seeing how those voltages would only bias the LED's at about 5.1V I suspect they are not accurate - 101V -14V = 87V / 17 = 5.1V

    One other question is any possibility of locating the power supply schematic diagram - DPS-162KP A / RUNTKA932WJQZ for possibly modifying to limit current in the LED drive circuit?

    And, just a side note if it has not been posted before, but I did purchase one of the cheap Chines LED testers - a model GJ2C. The constant current source in it is set to 30ma.

    I'm having back light problems with the same model TV. Currently looking for replacement back light strips and having a heck of a time finding them in stock. Will keep you updated if I find anything, please do the same for me! I bookmarked this post and will check again.

    Thanks,
    Kaz

        I ordered some 6v 1w led 7030 diodes on ebay. Hoping for a positive result on this. Based off your measurements of 300ma-400ma they would be 2watt. I've spent some time searching for these as well. Dont wanna buy a whole strip at 100$.

          Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
          by Pipolups
          Hi there !

          I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
          Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

          Hi There!
          I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
          He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
          It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
          The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...

          Sharp 70' LEDs Spike 260v at start up?
          by JayPoorJay
          Hi all. This is my second thread. Have a bunch of questions.

          I got my hands on a 70 inch Sharp Aquos LC70EQ10U. Not working when I found it.

          I replaced the power board (found in eBay) and the TV finally produced an image. Reset it had image and sound.. Went from 2 slow and 2 fast blinks as a fault code to 1 slow 1 fast fault. Lamps or inverters according to the manual. TV is one now, at this moment (looks great w/ ZERO dark spots on screen) but it powering up and producing an image is unpredictable. 3 out of 10 times.

          There are 3 leads to the LEDs....

          Sharp 80” long short flash backlight error - Help
          by Superbee_dad
          Hello Sharp TV experts
          Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.

          > I checked voltages on the power supply board and they all check out .. including 3.28 volts at the error pin.
          > There is power to the cpu and T-CONN and no faults found there. The cpu has a flashing...

          Adjustable dc power supply and tcl led strip
          by benareeno
          I wonder if i shorted the whole strip...where to put pos and neg to just light up a single diode...or the entire strip. The strip lit for a second...so maybe i fried it? What say you?

          I have an adjustable dc power supply and was trying around 9 volts.

          I have a pic of a single diode...where to put pos and neg terminals to light it up?

          Pic of middle of strip..is this where i light the entire strip?

          And pic of end...or does this light the entire strip?

          Where to put pos and neg for single diode..multiple diodes and the entire...
