    Disable Hotel Mode. Sony KDL-55W802A

I've seen a few different methods listed around the net but none of them are working for me.

Does anyone know the SPECIFIC method for disabling Hotel Mode for this model? Do certain buttons need to be HELD simultaneously or do they just go chronologically?

I have a RM-YD087 remote, which as far as I can tell is the correct remote for this TV but I am unable to enter Service Mode or perform a factory reset, I assume this is due to the Hotel mode being enabled.

So with tv off. Display 5 vol+ power doesn't do anything?

    Try display 5 vol- power
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

WOW. I just figured it out.

SO, evidently there is a specific chronology in which you have to navigate into and out of these modes.

NORMAL MODE > HOTEL MODE SETTINGS > HOTEL MODE
      OR
HOTEL MODE > HOTEL MODE SETTINGS > NORMAL MODE

You cannot skip over HOTEL SETTINGS MODE.

So, the hypothesis that I was in Hotel Mode was correct, but I was trying to jump straight to Normal Mode, which is not possible.

I found the proper button codes to enter the different modes here. It is a manual for the FWD Professional Video Monitor version of the sister KDL models but the modes are the shared between them.

The method to access HOTEL MODE SETTINGS is as follows:

      Turn on the TV
      • The TV needs to have a display during this procedure (no input video is needed)
      • Press the DISPLAY button
      • Press the MUTE button
      • Press the VOL+ button
      • Press the HOME button
o The TV will go into power standby and require the power button to be pressed in order
      to display an image

NOW you can return to NORMAL MODE:

      • Turn on the TV
      • Press the Power button on the remote to turn the TV off
      • Press the DISPLAY button
      • Press the MUTE button
      • Press the VOL- button
      • Press the POWER button

      BOOM.

Full access. Service mode, firmware updates, all inputs and settings menus... Holy hell.

Thank you freakaftr8 for getting me headed in the right direction, I appreciate the help.

Maybe this will help another poor, confused soul at the frayed end of their rope.

Old Sony VAIO da0hk5mb SVE1512E1E disable Radeon video card
            by bbenalmadena
I have a Sony VAIO SVE1512E1E (motherboard da0hk5mb) video card is broken, has artifacts, I want to disable it, the processor is an I3-3110M that supposedly has an integrated Intel GPU and I want to disable the onboard Radeon so that can be used.

I download some schematics, and tried to remove VPL1, but then the laptop starts some leds, and shut off. Should I try to lift VPL1 and VPR47 and pass a cable to one tip of VPR47 and the other back to VPU1 to see if that works or it is pointless?
That seems to be some feedback to VPU1 and I guess if it does not detect voltage, laptop...

            PS3 CECHC03 60GB YLOD Troubleshooting

I have a post on psx-place for this but thought I'd try here as well in case anyone has experience or the schematics or any kind of help. Here's the original post from psx-place:

Hi, so I bought a YLOD Fat PS3 as I wanted a repair project and thought it would be a good way to get experience. I was able to solder to the RX, TX and Diag pads on the COK-002 motherboard and was able to get external access and retrieved the codes. I haven't powered it on beforehand so these should be the last ones. I did try to get internal access immediately after but kept getting scopen response...

Samsung HG75EJ690UB Hotel TV, change main?
            by elpatxi_bcn
            Hello!

I just got a Samsung TV model HG75EJ690UB 75" and 4K. It is a hotel TV, with a slightly different version of the Tizen operating system than the TVs at home.
Being a hotel, it is covered in many functions. With the service menu I can unlock some, but not others. For example, I can't install apps like Netflix etc...
The fact is that it seems that I can replace the main by a, say, "normal". I think the one that corresponds is NU7105, ref BN94-02635. At work, which is a convention center and a hotel, I have many TVs from 55" to 85" that...

            Sony KDL-46HX850 Can't upgrade/update firmware
            by dkneyle
Diagnosed this TV as having a failed main board which I've replaced with one from a KDL 55HX850. They are (supposedly) the same board.

Being 'Smart TV' it requires a firmware reboot when you swap out boards such as T-Con or main board. It starts with a black screen and flashing yellow and green LEDS, indicating it needs that firmware boot. The procedure described all over the web is to put the software into the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and it should load that up once plugged into USB1 port. But not for me. I can see the LED on the USB chip flash for about...
