DSE GE6810 very strange eeprom gone troppo I think

Got this set over a year ago. Side buttons didn't work properly but I set it up eventually for DVD play and gave it to a guy purely for that purpose with instruction "don't touch anything". Eventually the set stopped coming on and he put it aside. Now got it back with me and at first it turns on displaying green light so stuck in startup - no backlights. Pulled back off and all voltages present and spot on including 24v to backlights. Cycled power a couple of times and get backlights, menu, etc. Connect up to signal source and perform factory reset, do tune in, all good set works off remote and side buttons. Goes for hours no problem. Turn off with remote. Next day only green led on front and further recycles needed - set then displays normal pictures again for hours but this time remote and side buttons not work. Turn off at pp. Today get it going again after several attempts and only displays program info no picture present. Tried again later and after few attempts get pictures as usual but now program info permanently displayed BUT note date (see pic). Weird but must be flash memory problem. Does anyone know service code ? I'm hoping there maybe a factory reset or eeprom init in that menu.

Should have mentioned this set is a Chinese generic with local brand since gone to the wall. When opened I noticed the main board carried dreaded (by me at least) initials MSD in the part number - have several sets with various boards by this mob and all seem to have eeprom corrupt with no info available.

Have you checked the reset device (if it has one) . Had similar experience on a Crt one ages ago and microprocessor and crystal replaced and was still the same, replaced the reset transistor and the problem never surfaced again. May be the same may not be.

yeah sounds like a eeprom error all right. tried freezing the flash chip to see if any difference? and do you have eeprom reading/writing equipment?

Just to finish this thread I managed to get this set going normally at times and put a number of hours on it while I looked for any info I could find. The main board is used in many cheaper sets. On opening it up again I noticed a 470uf 16v cap just above main processor cover (c163) was starting to swell. Replaced it and now set going normally and switching on/off OK. This cap must have been affecting main processor or eeprom or both. Main is MSDV3206 ZC01-01 B.

            93C46 and 93C56 EEPROM

I tore apart my instrument cluster for my 2008 Toyota Corolla made in 2007 in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and pcb location: IC6=EEPROM is a surface mounted device with part # of 93C46W7, some claim the EEPROM out of a Camry part # 93C56 will allow odometer to roll over 299 999 KM or miles. The data sheet for both is below:

Anyone know if the Camry one will work on my Corolla?. And which EEPROM reader/writers do you all recommend I purchase that will allow me to read the old values of the old...

Pioneer DEX-P99rs "No EEProm " diagnostic code.
            by dmccul2698
Hello, My head unit developed strange behaviors so I ran the built-in diagnostic package which returned "No EEProm". The service manual says there is no EEProm connected. I approached Pioneer and they said to swap out the DSP board. All said and good but the DSP board is $860 USD. I am hoping someone can help me

1). Understand the schematic and check the connections between the EEProm and DSP
2). Check the functionality of the EEProm

I don't know if this is the unit's problem but it's a place to start.

I have little to no electronic experience...

Trying to Save - Samsung UN40MU6300 - No Signs of Life
            by KYBOSH
            Picked this one up today.

No signs of life whatsoever. No red led light from the IR module.

Disconnected the mainboard to see if PSU was working and it was (LED backlights lit up).

Checked the power button for continuity when buttons were pressed and I got readings.
Disconnected various components (speaker, wifi module) with no difference.

Checked mainboard's fuses (found 3) and they were all good.
I looked on shopjimmy to see what components I may have been missing and I saw that they were selling EEPROMs.

            Then it dawned...

TCL 55S401 Backlights, no image, responds to buttons
            by DXseekerMO
So this TCL 55S401 I got today has backlights, no image on screen but responds with audible clicks when I press the buttons. I tried another t-con but no change in status.

When I detach the FFCs one at a time from the T-CON to the Source Driver Boards I expect that side of the screen would be white, but when I do this both sides remain black (or blue with the backlights) with either FFC detached.

The t-con has 12v going to it and the processor is very warm to the touch in short order, but the processor on the Main Board seems cool/ambient temperature.

            VIZIO M557-G0: Backlights or ???
            by bpcannan
            'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.

Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.

I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.

I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate...
