    Vizio D65U-D2 backlight goes out

I searched this forum and saw two threads for this model, but so far I have not fixed my problem. I have a Vizio D65U-D2 and after the tv being on anywhere from 30 seconds to 15 minutes, the backlight will go out and stay out. I did the flashlight test and can still see an image with that. I'm incredibly new to repairing electronics. I ordered a new set of boards from ShopJimmy, but that didn't fix the issue. It's now looking like I might have to try to replace the LED strips, which I'm not comfortable doing.

Would a failing LED strip cause all of the backlights to go out, or would it just show as a darker spot on the tv while the rest of the LEDS are still now? Does anyone have any guidance on what steps I can take before trying to replace the LED strips?

Do you have meter to test Voltages?
We need good clear pictures of YOUR boards and pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards and how they are connected together.

Here are some pictures. Please let me know if I need to take more of anything. I don't have a multimeter, but I can run to the store and pick one up if needed. Thank you!

edit: These are the replacement boards from ShopJimmy. I can take pics of the original boards if it helps.

You will need a meter to do some Voltage testing when TV is working and when it is not. First place will check the Voltage feeding the LED driver to see if the Voltage is still present or not when the backlights go out.
What you can also do right now is to go into on screen user menu setup and turn down the backlights level (NOT BRIGHTNESS) to as low as possible and see if the backlights will stay on longer, you can do this one first before getting the meter.
This TV may have backlights setting for each input sources.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

Vizio M65Q7-H1 Red Vertical Strips fixed by tape blocking LC1 signal to half of the panel
          by howardc64
          Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

          Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...

Vizio D32f-E1 Powers on, has backlight, won't boot/no logo, no menu or video
          by JaquesPratt
I have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.

This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable....

          Vizio m601d-a3 backlight issue
          by Mectronik
Hello, I'm working on a Vizio m601d-a3 with a backlight issue that I am having a difficulty diagnosing it. As it sits, the tv powers on, displays the Vizio symbol and with nothing hooked up it will then display no signal but you can only see half of the screen. I know it's a back light issue because the picture is there without light behind it, as I can see it by doing a light test. I've taken off the paneling and done a visual inspection. If I disconnect the tcon ribbon cable to the affected side then the entire half of the screen goes away. I've checked voltages at the LED driver from the main...

Vizio M70-D3 4K with dark spots backlight issue
          by Yanleb
I have a Vizio M70-D3 4K with a dark spots backlight issue. It is using the Y8387248A backlight driver board.

On this model each of the 64 transistor powers 2 LEDs. Using my TKDMR TD3H backlight tester I've determined that the backlight LED strips were the issue, and the backlight driver board was just fine. Some LED pairs required 5.9 volt at 155mA, some required 9.5 volt and some were completely open.

I've removed the LCD panel and once the LED strips were exposed I've tested them again by connecting my LED tester directly on the test pads. To my surprise all, I've...
