    Sony XBR65X900B 4 Blink code 'Solved'

    So we had this Sony XBR65X900B with a 4 blink error code. The service manual indicates that either a LD, T-Con, or panel are the issues. I had read in a forum that the main problem was the issue. Did the Display, 5, vol -, power to reset it, and update with USB drive. Didn't change anything.
    After checking voltages noticed a couple of fets and a ceramic resistor were shorted on the power supply. Service manual didn't mention power supply as a possibility. After changing the TV came right on, and works perfect. Noticed a ton of parts on Ebay for this set that makes me wonder if people are scrapping these prematurely. Stupid 4 blink code was borderline worthless.

      Section affected mostly likely controlled 12v output to the tcon. So no 12v, code appears meaning tcon not functioning.

      Good finding!
      Did I leave the soldering iron on?

              I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
              It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.


              So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
              After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

              Hi all, the TV KDL-40W2000 was flashed by a lightning.
              Firstly I got the 3 red blink code.

              Following other threads I changed the power supply board and got always 3 blinks.
              So I changed also the mainboard and now I get 2 blinks error code. Tried also with the other ps board, still getting 2 blinks.

              The TV turns on for a minute or two with green led and blank screen, if I press buttons the green led blinks fast. It turns to 2 red blinking led after a while.
              What else can I do?...

              Hi,
              I have this set. It turns on and is watchable for a few minutes but then shuts off and flashes 4 red lights.

              I don't work on Sony much but assumed it was backlights from what I read.

              Opened up the TV and tested all the backlights with led tester and the all work.

              I know sometimes that doesn't mean anything since it's not running at full current but I hate to spend $120 on backlights (shopjimmy) is the only one that even has them just to find out I missed something.

              So anyway to test these lights similar to the way we test...

              I aquired this Panasonic 60" plasma around the time my first child was born. It was meant to be a project tv, hoping to fix it chipping away at the repair in my free time. Well that was 2 years ago and i'm really just getting around to making a sincere effort to see if I can ressurect this beast.



              The symptoms of the tv ar as follows:
              • Plug AC in to back of TV
              • After about 2 seconds the relay on the P-sub board will click on and then a fraction of a second later it clicks back off
              • The 3 blink code is given by the power LED
