    Polaroid P40LED13 fixed

Found in the trash area at my apartment block.

Was powering on with no backlight but faint picture visible under flashlight.

This set had *five* open circuit LEDs. I bridged them all as it is a series string with constant-current regulation for the whole string, so this is acceptable.

Now fully working. 12,100 hours on the internal hour counter.

Going to set backlight to the medium setting as high setting is too much current for these LEDs obviously.

PWM Controlled power MOSFET is not getting too hot due to more Vdrops on the MOSFET?

No, the power supply drops the voltage. It is a constant current regulator with all LEDs in series.

Most LED driver has fixed boosted output Voltage and the use the PWM Controlled MOSFET to regulate the current on the return side, I had to replace many the burnt MOSFET when people bypassed the bad LEDs so the Vdrops on the MOSFET goes up and caused it to over heat.
What kind of LED driver IC is used in that TV?

It would appear that the IC regulates the boost current from the sum of the LED currents, according to the diagram on page 8.

Though I can't be sure - I misread current-mode as current-controlled on the first page.

The regulation MOSFETs are inside the device, so it cannot dissipate much power. All four channels are tied in parallel. The design of the set allows for many different configurations to be used which makes interpreting the labyrinth of the schematic () difficult.

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
            by Pipolups
            Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-46 DMI not working
            by aico60
            Hello everyone,

I am working on an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-46, board HH51R LA-M002P Rev: 1A with an AMD CPU and Insyde Bios rev 5.

Short issue description: BIOS does not recognize any of the DMI data.

            History of the laptop:
The seller of the laptop said that it shut down during a BIOS update.
I bought in in a condition where it turned on but did not post.
While waiting for my RT809F to arrive, I tried to perform a Crisis recovery, which messed up the EC firmware, so... the laptop stopped even turning on. Power and Charging LEDs didn't work either...

            Insignia NS-37D20SNA14 intermittent LEDs

So I use this TV daily as a second monitor for my PC or my Playstation - at one point a few months back I tried to fix the problem - but in the process, I figured out something that works so I haven't posted this for awhile. It is an annoying trick to have to do though, so I decided to post about it to see if anyone could spot what's wrong. It baffles me because it works on it's own half the time.

When I first got this TV, I was told it wouldn't turn on, and of course I did the flashlight test, and the image was there. Also, the red LED on the front indicated that it had power (it...

Samsung UN65NU6950 edge lit TV LED bar after 10k usage hours
            by howardc64
Edge lit LED TV has 1/4 section backlight out. Replaced the LED bars and sharing the findings on the original 10k hour LED bar.

These are 6V LEDS (reads ~5.4+ on my LED tester) New bars read about 147V per 1/2 of each bar. Clearly original LED bar has some problems
            • One section is 153v with a dead LED so clearly built up resistance
            • One section flickers but magically fixed itself after driving individual LEDs. All done with an LED tester so don't know if would work driven by PSU backlight circuit and how long it would last
            • Connector pin to test pad resistance is nearly 0 ohms.

            Replacing Mode Indicator LEDs
            by VitalComputing
            Hi all,

I have what should be a simple job but is causing me issues. There are three LEDs (yellow, green and red) on the indicator panel of a solar PWM controller and these have broken off. I need to replace them but I am unsure of the voltage drop across these. I don't want to replace with random LEDs in case they blow.

I took one of the LEDs out of circuit, put 19V across it with a 500 ohm resistor in series and there is a drop of about 13V across the LED, and this seems to increase as I increase the input voltage.

I thought I could just put a resistor...
