I picked up this TV for free the other week from someone who was looking to get rid of it as it "didn't work" anymore. They said that one day the TV stopped displaying an image but still had sound.
After receiving the TV, I removed the back panel and cleaned out any dust. I tested the TV using a Fire Stick as the input and the TV was turning on but not displaying anything. Then the TV clicked and restarted itself and suddenly it was functioning (it was displaying static as the input was on the antenna input).
The TV continued to function for approximately a week and then it stopped displaying an image again. Any ideas what would be causing this sporadic behavior?
Other things that may be of note:
- When turning on, the Sony logo and green power indicator both light up, then there's a click and they flick off for a split-second and then back on again.
- The remote still works for controlling the TV, but the TV will not factory reset. After holding up on the remote and then hitting the power button on the TV, it doesn't start back up as it says it should in the manual.
