I would not use a wire wound resistor in that position, as the circuit is high frequency, you could check resistance of windings on inverter transformer if all ok and read continuity then check for bulging electrolytics, and those little blue capacitors they do fail, reason for that resistor getting hot is probably due to oscillation, a wire wound resistor would make the problem worse, You could have a shorted turn on the inverter transformer of course.
I would not use the receiver if components are running hot, you have not said if the board has been burnt to charcoal if it has it could be tracking.Comment
