    Pioneer LX5090

    Hello,

I need some help, I reset my LX5090 a few months ago. Big mistake.

It has white/green sparkles near black and what I can only describe as "dancing-pixels" in bright scenes. There are probably other artifacts I'm not aware of.

Everything is at post-reset defaults, except for RSTP (38), FSAD (168) and XSUB/YSUB (24), and there are 170 hours post-reset (there was originally over 22K hours).

I'm just trying to get my LX5090 back to stock or as close as I can.

I think i read somewhere that Tom66 says you need the value's from the service menu before you did the reset. It has to do with timing between the panel and boards but im not 100% sure.

What you see is sparkles. Every plasma has it but your symptom is due to the reset.....

You need to wait for Tom to jump in or search the forum.

This is what Tom said in a different thread!

"Voltage settings is the way to approach it. Don't reset ANYTHING. You will throw your config out of sync with the panel, it may fix problems initially, but it will just get worse over time and you will lose the sync that the control board has with the panel.

What I would recommend is getting the service manual for your set and following the provided guidelines for eliminating maldischarge (usually "Determining the VOFS/VYNOFS1,3,4 point when replacing panel", there are other terms, I am familiar with the PDP-LX5090 panel.)

I have tweaked two PDP-LX5090 panels to fix various issues...they are excellent panels, and have an extraordinary range over which they can be adjusted for best performance"

        Re: Pioneer LX5090

My LX5090 has about 600 hours on it now since the reset, and I was hoping the aging algorithms would sort out the green/white sparkles near black, but it hasn't.

Just wondering if anyone can help

          Pioneer LX5090 - 2x Red blink after auto-shutdown
          by janos666
I was trying to reset the Pulse Meter and re-adjust the Panel-1/2 settings in the SM on an exceptionally old Pioneer LX5090 (51k power-on hours according to it's SM). I did this many times on much less aged specimens (with 10-20k hours) without issues. After following the usual workflow, I noticed the darkest gray shade showed up black with bright sparkles. I tried to adjust some other parameters but it didn't disappear. Then I went on and restored the old values of the parameters I don't usually touch (although I did this from memory, so I might have made an error). After that, I started going...

Panasonic P42S30 Plasma - Pink sparkles
          by Lintesir
My parents' Panasonic P42S30 died recently, and they asked me to have a look at it. I was able to identify the SN-board as the culprit, as it was shorted. After removing Q401, Q402, Q421 and Q422 the short was gone, so I replaced these components and that got the TV working again. However, when testing the tv a bit, I noticed quite bad pinkish sparkles on some colors. For instance the greyish bar on this forum seems to trigger it quite badly. I made a fullscreen test picture with only that color, with the below result.

There is about a 5cm high region at the top without any sparkles,...

Sony OLED XR-77A80J - 5 Flashes But Turn On After Hard Reset
          by odie34
I am a hobbyist (not a professional) so please be gentle...

I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)

I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,...

Philips MDP 3380/12 Blu-ray Player – No Power, Reset Signal Always High
          by ictc
I'm troubleshooting a Philips MDP 3380/12 Blu-ray player that shows no signs of life. The display remains off, and no buttons respond.

Inside, the power supply is working correctly, and all expected voltages on the mainboard match the service manual specifications. The CPU warms up slightly (checked with a thermal camera), the crystal oscillator is functioning, but the reset signal remains high at all times.

The reset circuit appears to consist of two NPN transistors, one driven by 5V VCC and the other by 3.3V STBY, as shown in the attached schematic. Should the reset...

ASUS M5A78L-M LX - PWR button works sometimes, CPU stuck in reset
          by kotel studios
          Hi,
Firstly I'd like to apologize if this was posted in the wrong forum (I'm new here )
Recently I got an ASUS M5A78L-M LX board in a scrap lot. Saw one broken cap which I've replaced. No broken traces and missing components. While soldering a new cap a bit of solder got onto components bellow SB (opposite of the two lythic caps). Didn't see it and powered the board on.
I was greeted with it not starting. Came back to it a day later and shorted the PS_ON with GND to force it on. It sprung to life but with CPU stuck in reset (it was an FX 4600 I believe). Thats when I saw the...
