Little pricey but will stop the woes, get a refund on the bunk one.
That's where I got the new A-Board in the first place, it was the last one in their stock when I ordered it a couple weeks ago.

You have to call them to set up a return, I might do that tomorrow or at least see if they will exchange the A-Board I purchased for the one they have in stock now.

if they're indeed same exact board yes it is possible, but it would make more sense to copy the bin from it and transfer it to the other rather than butcher possibly good board, but then again we don't know if it's rom er bin is corrupted or not which may very well be the reason replacement not working.

Since I have two A-Boards, wouldn't it be possible to just swap the chip from the "new" board I got into the old one that I know is bricked? If the new A-Board I received is indeed faulty, perhaps the one part (an IC?) I need from it isn't? Since I would most likely have to source the bin from the new board I got anyway(I don't know how easy it would be to find online), would it be easier to just swap the ICs?

Looking at these boards, none of these chips look removable, at least not for a novice like me - but if an IC swap on the main boards seems like a plausible solution, I could bring the boards to a local professional to do it for me.

Regardless of what makers say, when updating f/w there's always a possibility of bricking it--no matter what the thing is, let alone TV sets with their multitude of different versions--Of the same set!

Route of last resort in my book, leave f/w alone unless you know for sure its the cause of the problem, and if there IS NO Problem, defo dont do it--don't even think about it!
It was a silly reason, that I deeply regret now that I've possibly bricked the TV. I was having trouble getting the TV to recognize my network's media server, and figured updating the firmware couldn't hurt.

That being said, for most of the time I've owned this TV, I haven't even had the internet options turned on. I had a roku3/cable box/pc all hooked up to this TV through an Onkyo receiver so I never really ever used the few built in apps/features that this early smartTV has... I was wanting to move the roku to a different room with an older TV.

What it does is turning on the tv without sending a image to the panel. If it stays on you got bad buffer boards.

If the 6 blink error stays on BOTH sc boards your problem seems to be the mainboard. I will look in the service manual when i get home.

Let me know what the outcome is!
I found an old hard drive jumper and wedged it into the SC50 jumper (it wasn't easy to get the jumper in there, like it was just a little bit too big)

The result was the same 6 blinks. I haven't tried my original SC board yet, that's next. (edit: I put the original SC board back in, with the jumper, and got the same 6 blinks)

If the TV Stays on with no signal being sent from the buffer boards.... how will I know? Will I be able to pull up the onscreen menus and such?

Ps , with the old mainboard installed im sure you tried the power button on the remote itself? It wont come out of standby with the power button on the tv or other buttons.
Also double check the SC20 cable , release both hatches and pull them open untill they cant go any further. Take the SC20 connector and slide it in. Maybe clean the sc20 cable wih some alcohol and look inside the connector.

It happened to me once that i had a faulty sc20 cable due to heat/dust etc

You should not have bought the sc board to be honest. I get it , you want the tv to be working again but dont go buy random boards. Waste of money.
Just looking at the picture you provided i think you received a bad A board ( mainboard ). But that is just a guess.

Should be good then. Formally tristate module. i have yet to receive anything bad from them, anything but it is possible to get a bad part but i can tell you they have called me before they shipped an order of multiple parts to let me know one was damaged and failed test so the order had to be modified.

Update : got the new SC Board, installed it. Still getting 6 blinks. I tripled checked all the connections and screws before I even plugged the thing back in.

I'm all out of ideas on what the issue could be. Really don't want to go in on more parts (the SU and SD Boards).

Also about all out of patience, guess I'm going to start looking into new TVs.

RT809F or RT809H (find the bin file)

Tried that as well, and got the original result. With the old A-Board the red LED just comes on and stays on, never blinks. TV Still doesn't work.

I went ahead and ordered the SC Board, I figure what's another $30(45 w/ shipping) if it saves me buying a new tv. I really love my Panasonic Plasma, and I got it for next to nothing from Sears shortly after Panasonic announced they wouldn't be making plasmas anymore.

I'll update again next week when I get the new SC Board.

p65 c1 bricked during auto firmware update (need rom)
    by mallard729
    Hey all
So my rock solid p65 (lol) got stuck with a auto firmware update stuck at 20% for a few hours, finally had to hold down power button, tv is now in the logo reboot loop, cycles about every 25 seconds. the buttons on the back of the tv do not seem to function, i tried loading firmware with no luck... nothing is recognized.
in my course of research i think that the eeprom u202 got corrupt during the failed update, i have reached out to vizio, but not hopeful as tv is long out of warranty. Wonder if vizio would at least send me the .bin file for the u202 chip

This thing is pretty expensive. More than an average notebook.

Anyway. I got this job over facebook market place. Customer said he bought it used and it was working fine, then he decided to upgrade firmware and somewhere along the way the battery died or whatever we don't know, it got bricked. That's his story and he's sticking with it.

If we connect power supply to it, we are getting 21 milliamps and nothing is happening. Pressing buttons does nothing....

ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 1: keyboard after firmware update without function
    by rumpumpel1
Lenovo System Update offered me an update for the firmware of the Folio keyboard for my X12 Detachable Gen 1. The update got stuck and after 20 minutes I switched off the laptop. Since then, the keyboard and touchpad have been without function. Does anyone know how I can revive it?

    Sony KDL-46HX850 Can't upgrade/update firmware
    by dkneyle
Diagnosed this TV as having a failed main board which I've replaced with one from a KDL 55HX850. They are (supposedly) the same board.

Being 'Smart TV' it requires a firmware reboot when you swap out boards such as T-Con or main board. It starts with a black screen and flashing yellow and green LEDS, indicating it needs that firmware boot. The procedure described all over the web is to put the software into the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and it should load that up once plugged into USB1 port. But not for me. I can see the LED on the USB chip flash for about...
