Had some great luck on here a few months and was able to fix a pair of Samsung screens with slow power on issues and dark screens... about $10 worth of caps each and both good as new.
Saw a 55" LG TV for sale on the local buy and sell page, LG 55LM5850 that says for parts only, blue screen.
If I can get the guy down enough in price, may be worth a gamble... but wanted to run it by you guys first... would something like a blue screen only be a capacitor issue?
On Google, there's a lot of weeding through junk to find information, saw a few posts mentioning bad caps, but of course, threads always just die off without the original poster saying what fixed it in the end.
Anyone have any idea what causes a blue screen on an LG TV? and is it fixable using parts like caps and resistors etc... vs replacing boards and such... at which point it's not really worth it.
Thanks
