    Element 40" TV

    Hi folks.
    Today i bring you a Element ELDFW406.
Lightning strike early AM of 7/3, took out 4 TVs and 4 cable boxes.
The only "survivor" is the Element TV, as it was farthest away from strike.
However, when powered on, i get only the front blue light indicating it is turned on. No splash screen, no apparent backlight. Tried checking for backlight issues with a darkened room and a flashlight to no avail.

Opened her up, and checked power supply board voltages. I get a 5, 12, and a 24, and i THINK i got a 3 something(will check again tomorrow). My question is this: Should i be getting anything other than 5,12, and 24?

So far, im thinking maybe main board, but any and all input will be appreciated.
BTW, did a visual inspection of all caps, none appear to be busted, bulging, etc.

main board is the most common failure with surges. you can jump the power supply on with a couple of 1k resistors to confirm that the ps is ok.
WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?

      Re: Element 40" TV

Need good clear straight on pictures of back of tv with cover off and each board.

Need voltages from connector that goes from power supply board to main board. Will need pin#- PIN DESCRIPTION -Pin voltage in standby-Pin voltage when pushing power button and picture of connector on power supply board.
      Format:
Pin# - Pin Description - Pin Voltage standby - Pin voltage power on
      1 - XXXXXXX - XXv - XXXv
      2 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
      3 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
      4 - etc.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Would these voltage tests be better with the PS board unplugged from the main board?

I realized the stupidity of the question when i reread the standby and power voltages :P
