When I power on the TV it flickers rapidly for several seconds then the screen goes blank. The lights are still on but there is nothing on the screen. No menu or information. I have checked all the boards and the only thing that appears to be faulty is a thermistor. I have tested the power board and all the correct voltages are there. From the other threads on here it appears to be the main board voltage regulators. Nobody on those threads have confirmed that fixed the problem. How do I test these?

Re: Vizio E421VA flickering backlight when powered on
I have added a picture of the mainboard. The thermistor just had a bit of old gunky flux that was easily scraped off. Research from other posts suggests the mainboard to be faulty. ShopJimmy appears to be sold out of this model mainboard and the mainboard kits don't show my same model number.Comment

by xeosI have this Vizio VO370M TV that I'd like to save because it has very low input lag (as good as the most expensive TVs sold today!, https://alantechreview.blogspot.com/...input-lag.html), but it has a very annoying issue: sometimes the backlight flickers (or is just kind of dim). The flicker is slower than 60hz, so we aren't just talking some kind of motion compensation).
I was hoping maybe it was a power board issue (aka failing caps) but I opened it up and I don't see any that look bad. I have a budget capacitance/ESR meter if it's worth checking those... -
by DrvLikHellHello everybody! It's been nine years and I'm back again with the same monitor that several people here helped me fix back then. The first time, I replaced two caps as was recommended here and the original problem was solved. Then it started acting up a few years later and I came back for a parts list and replaced a few more caps (I didn't make a post about that and don't remember which ones), and again the problem was solved. This time, however, I'm not sure if it's caps.
The monitor stays on but certain colors will flicker. Generally it's darker colors like dark greys or dark blues,...-

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.
Where is the short?
Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.
