HP PL5060n No Picture but sound

    Hi everyone.

My Cousin gave me an HP pl5060N. She said it has sound but no picture. When she went to have it repaired they told her it was going to be around $300 to fix, but since she had the tv for a while she would rather just get a newer one.

I did some research to and it seems as if the YSUS board needed to be replaced (i am a newbie and dont have tv board level repair experience yet).

I put in the new board and it still has no picture. THe light on the tv indicates it is on but still no picture.

Any ideas on what i could replace? before i start ordering more parts i figured i would try to get some help in narrowing it Down.

I could try some board level repair, as i am certified in soldering, just wouldnt know where to start.

I can also upload pics if needed once i get oof work.

    Thanks in advance.

Some pictures of the rear cover removed so we could see the boards layout will help us to help you. Did you measure Vs, Va, Ve, Vsc voltages? Do you have a DMM?

You need to follow logical checking process as set out above sticky for plasma repair. This basically is voltage checking first as is then with Y side voltage line disconnected from wherever it emanates (may be via X - Z board) then with that board power disconnected. Replacing boards is ok once you get some assurance from your tests but depending on supplier may be no guarantee the board purchased is ok itself .
