RCA LED32G30RQ No Standby, Dead Set Help!!!

I have an RCA LED32G30RQ and it has no standby led and it doesn't power on. If anyone has fixed this issue with this model tv, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: RCA LED32G30RQ No Standby, Dead Set Help!!!

Here are my voltages for CON 2 , CON 3, and CON 4.
        For CON 2 (PIN 1, GND=-0.003) (PIN 2, GND=-0.003) (PIN 3, +5V=5.102) (PIN 4, +5V=5.101) (PIN 5, PS ON=4.538) (PIN 6, +5VSB=5.091) (PIN 7, +5V=5.102) (PIN 8, +5V=5.102) (PIN 9, GND=-0.003) (PIN 10, GND=0.001) (PIN 11, GND=0.001) (PIN 12, +12V=0.001) (PIN 13, +12V=0.001)
        For CON 3 (+24V=0.000), (+24V=0.000), (GND=0.000), (GND=0.000)
        For CON 4 (BK ON=0.08), (ADJ=4.858)

So I'm not getting anything on my +12V or +24V pins. Where do I go from here?

Where these voltages taken in standby?
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Yeah. The set was plugged in when i tested. I pressed power button while it was plugged in and the voltages stayed the same, so I'm not getting any power when the power button is pressed.

So you will need to unplug cable to main board and take pin 5 to ground through around a 1k resistor and see if you get your voltages

So, you're saying solder 1k resistor to pin 5 and to a ground, unplug cable to main board and then check voltages again? I'm new to TV repair, but I am very educated and technical, so I catch on quick. Just please forgive me if I you think my questions are stupid or something I should know. I have to find a 1k resistor on a spare board and I'll let you know what my voltages are.

Now we know that you do have standby Voltage to run the main board so the Main board should at least has active LED indicator to show that the main board is at least alive in standby mode. At this point it looks to be main board problem.

Hey. I'm back. When I disconnect the main board, I get -0.041 on p5 which is PS ON. P6 is +5V SB and my voltage was 5.099 on that pin.

Yeah. I think so too because I get voltages from PS ON and +5V SB. So what do you think could be wrong with the main board, EEPROM or an IC? What do I check now if it's not too much trouble. I'm cheap, I wanna fix the board, rather than buy another one.

hope i'm steering you in the right direction, but

ps/on is .041v when disconnected from main, so ps/on is active (though fairly high). though you state that the voltages are in stby?

can someone with a bigger brain let me know if i'm looking at this right or not.

Hi. I don't know if I'm getting the labels of the pins right because there is a lot cramed together on this little board. I know I got the number of the pins right though. Here is a close up of CON 2 again, if anyone can tell me what the correct name for each pin 1-13 on CON 2.

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

Greetings to all, a while ago my TV was dead, it didn't turn on and the standby light was off, the next day it is working. But these days it no longer wants to turn on, I did some troubleshooting, I disconnected the main board, I checked the voltage on the backlight and there is 400 DC, when I connect it again the main board the voltage drops, in all that troubleshooting, miraculously the standby light comes on and the TV works. After an hour I check and test, I turn on the TV, the Stanby light flashes 3 times and it...

Vizio D50u-D1 Dead Set No Standby
                              by fharris1977
Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.
