so i pulled this set from an electronics bin

the panel works but the "ant in" connection is broken

so i used an HD digital converter box with the a/v cables to connect it to the ports on the set to view basic tv channels

the tv worked fine for a while then the sound when out and only one channel had sound

maybe it was the converter box but i still want to replace the main board so i can connect an antennae or cable because i will be using it in my office as a monitor as well

so my question is if someone can help me by identifying the boards on ebay if they will be compatible with the one from my set. i have always had good luck buying boards from ebay

but there are differences in the board such as the amount of caps on the board. also the number on the ebay board is JUC7.820.00121165 HLS43C 2014-6-27

The numbers match the Hiitachi Main Board for an LE42H508A LCD set so an internet search may help you find a replacement. Also check that it says what LCD Panel it matches and compare to your panel number.

Change that pcb mount F connector, it wont be too hard.

Isn't the F connector an integral part of the tuner module and not a separate item?

that is what i was thinking

but when i look inside of the metal housing it looks like it was only soldered at one contact point on the board

i will remove the housing and take a picture later tonight

Good idea. If the F connector is not moulded into the tuner casing then it looks as though the suggestions given above would work.

so i removed the housing

looks like there is only one spot to solder in the rf connector


now i need to figure out which connector to buy ?

I think is better to reinstall it to avoid possible interferences.
Maybe you can fix the new connector to it with a couple of thin washers and nuts.

the repair worked
cost me .25 cents since i found the rf connector at Radio shack and they are going out of business
