LG 50PN650T sound but no picture

This plasma LG 50PN650T start up with a white screen but goes black after one second.
VS and VA stays on, sound is OK.
I need either a service manual or info how to activate logic board test pattern.

If my memory serves me correctly, shorting the 2 pads by R51/R52 and with the ribbon cable removed from the mainboard to run the self test.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Re: LG 50PN650T sound but no picture

I could not get it to enter logic test mode by shorting those pins and removing ribbon from mainboard.
The green led on logic board flashes in a special pattern possibly indicating a failure.
So for now I cannot tell if the failure is logic and/or Y-SUS.

The symptom looks like the classic 50PK650 failure with the open 22R power resistors. In this case, it's not the same chassis nor the same kind of powersupply. And in this set, VA and VS stays on.

A bad Y-SUS tend to not produce any picture at all, this turns white directly after start-up, but is shut down the moment after.

Since the Va and Vs are constant we could say the PSU is OK. Since the Vs is good then I would think the Y-sus and Z-sus are OK. The Logic Bd in my mind is your fault. Replace the Bd and your set will work again.

Yes, it points to the logic board. Thanks!

              Logic board replaced, issue remains.
Could not activate testmode, probably another procedure.

Is it the correct Logic board. I cannot quite read the EBR number from your photo but the last few digits look like 60602

Spares2Repair list the last digits as 60502

Do you have the other supplies Vsc, -Vy, Z_Bias and is +5V on the Logic board

+5V is present on logic. I guess this fault is somewhere on Y-SUS and I will dig into the supplies to see all are up.
It seems like Y-SUS itself are turning off due to some protection.

                          Success!
I found a shorted UF4006 diode on the YSUS board in the floating supply section.
                          Now works nice again!

                              by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                              by Ierwin
                              Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

                              Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                              Symptom:
                              No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                              No sound at all.

                              What I tried:
                              1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Samsung UN60F8000BFXZA ~ No Picture or Sound - 5 Res Light Blinks
                              by kca
                              Hello all ~

I’m working on this Samsung 60” LED and purchased a new main board a couple of days ago that did not fix the 5 blink issue. The original main board’s HDMI ports (all 4 of them) failed to work and no amount of reflow remedied that.

This 5 red light blink code on the front panel LED is followed (about 15-20 seconds afterward) by an automatic reboot, and results in 5 more red light blinks. Then the entire cycle repeats itself indefinitely.

                              No picture. No sound.

I tested all the voltages coming out of the power supply...
