Found this set laying on kerbside. Cleaned it up fitted AC cord and had a look to find lhs screen black and rhs green with about 4" vertical panel in styrated lighter green. Selected menu and it came up as did no signal panel all over the screen despite continued fault. Research indicats that tab bonds are usually the problem but in this case may well be faulty tcon. Thoughts?

Re: Bauhn AC-46FZ screen half black half green
Yes mate and now have set upright as I had to fashion a stand for it. Green is problem side with styrations etc black on rhs from front generally OK but there is a horizontal band about 4" wide a bit darker which goes right across top of picture. Tried to upload pics but no go - will try again.

Sorry for reflections which I hadn't noticed until files transferred to laptop. So take no notice of the white areas and note that red colour comes up as yellowish on lhs of screen.Last edited by maxvalutech; 05-06-2017, 12:10 AM.

Re: BauhnvAC-46FZ screen half black half green
From my very limited experience I feel there may be two faults in this set - tcon the split screen and panel the other more minor issues. If I can get a tcon at reasonable price and I was right I have rellies with a " shack in the hills" which is only visited every 4/6 weeks and where due to isolation/intruders nothing of worth can be left.
This set could then prove ideal for where after a hard days trail riding a footie match could be watched over a few beers.

Re: BauhnvAC-46FZ screen half black half green
Well after many weeks away the replacement tcon was here when I got back. Fitted it but little change but then noticed only a third of the screen was green and wiggling strap for lhs brought up a lot of variations. In the interim did read a post where it was recorded similar connection may need 50 or so attempts to get it right so working on that and after many many tries got a reasonable picture! Set the strap in connector with a touch of glue. Now to see if it lastsLast edited by maxvalutech; 07-06-2017, 12:51 AM.

Re: BauhnvAC-46FZ screen half black half green
Well they say ignorance is bliss so I should be very happy but no I am just flummoxed. Brought this set in to tune all local channels but on first attempt only got 16 whereas should be 25 tv and 6 radio. The screen was usual snow until 50 percent of scan then goes solid black for dtv but the dreaded green was back!! And this showed up in the programs with green styrations on dark colours and purplish highlights on skin tones. Ok that was original problem. But here's the rub I decided to do a reset (no remote) and this too saw green problem but as I wasn't happy with reception of some channels I retuned again and lo no green came up during that scan and there is now no sign of any problem in picture reception! The green problem has gone! How can that be - what is relationship between tuner and t-con for this to happen when only one side is affected?

Yes your right and I do have a can of air now. The set has been put aside to attend a bit later. With the fitting of lhs strap to connector I gained an impression that a little twist in that strap needed to be just right for the picture to come good. Cold to warm could affect that touchy situation and we have just had a few cold winter days.

Re: BauhnvAC-46FZ screen half black half green
Finally got back to this set and the original problem again evident. Decided on drastic measures so pulled it apart been couldn't get to where tcon ribbons (2) feed into another board to screen. Too much to disassemble so used pliers to bend chassis frame up enough to release connector for ribbon on bad side. Gave the connector and ribbon a good clean and finally some success as all came good. This was a wall mounted set and my suspicion is some moisture got in probably when owner cleaning it. Our area is a maritime environment and corrosion a problem.
