I know this is a really old thread but thanks hartonoh for this post. Everything discussed her previously checked out on a power supply I have here and this put me in the right direction. I'd already inspected for cracked joints and overlooked one on one loan leg for T901.

I replaced zd301 and it solved the rapid clicking.

Now I get the normal slow click and retry. click click red light dims slowly as it shut off both relays. The normal problem you know.

EXCEPT : I THINK this is mainboard related. Why? Because I can instantly start the tv if I probe the 5.1 rail at the mainboard connector relative to chassis ground.

I bet I could put a 10Meg resistor and it would work flawlessly

    Something to think about

Yeah, hard to trust this POS. Great picture though plus this one has had the mainboard replaced with a measly 260 hrs so with a new PSU could get 5-7 years from it

It's a 30V zener. I've used 1N4751 which is likely a higher wattage. Got several because it seems easily spiked when I poke around one of the optos.

Still wasting my life on this one but I've forced everything on at P813, end result is the same as in the TV except instead of quitting after 3 powerup cycles, it continues so the mainboard must quit powering up , 3 strikes, you're out.

    it has

    Stdby 3.4 - 5v on run

M17V is present, M5V is on, Err Det (not used) is 4.9V, AC DET is also Ok 4.9V

    VA, VS zippity do dah

I've swapped L6599D, R2A02117 and the micro all from a good board , no change

I've managed to spike and kill ZD301 several times now probing the optos, that kils the 17V around IC301 and rapid endless cliking.

I've confirmed the micro off the bad board is ok as the good board runs just fine using it.

Oh and the 60" is running fine, no idea but ever since I jumpered that one and forced it on, it's been fine, WTF, bad caps?

When you get rapid clicking, check zd301 for short, 17V will also be missing. Sits around ic301.

Yeah , that's by paulstef. generally I take good guesses but this has been tough. Not a great fan of powering it up and probing. I have a tendancy to get the jitters and short stuff.

It also appears the micro is programmed too.

Pretty sure the #br chip I have is in fact one out of a working board, could try swapping back I guess. I generally don't touch power supplies and without proper fault finding I am shooting in the dark,

Not sure what happened but I remembered I swapped 2 FETS from another which were 3Amps less. put the 15A ones back in brushed up a couple of spots and a clean. Farking thing, back to clicking but only does 3 or cycles then quits.

    Over it TBH.

Tried reversing back to where it was working, nup. Stuff it.

Just got another one of these, my be closer to the issue you.

So this one. stdby 3.4V ,but at RUN= 5.1 v . 17v was present, no Va or Vs
    Relays just clicking.

Resistors good, check all solders and reflowed. Nothing shorted,

Swapped out all main Ic's from good board, - no change

Started swapping optos, no change..................until I changed PC101,102. Can't say which one but now it's running.

Funny thing I started with an opto swap , just the wrong one based on a mention somewhere in another thread.

They're nothing special real common garden variety opto you see a lot. chances are if you have some boards laying around you'll have something

    9V relay temperature 40C
    by jm1234
Hi, I'm seeing one 9V relay having temperature 40C on its 9V (primary) side. Does that seem right? I switched 2 relays on that board and the temperature was the same (on the same position), so I'm sure it's not a faulty relay. I measured voltage on that relay and it was 9.5V DC, so that looks good. I don't see any other relay on that board having that kind of temperature and they have 9V on them too.
I thought maybe the transistor that is switching this relay keeps switching on/off, so I also checked for AC and there was almost none: 0.3V using mV range. No steady frequency was shown, but...

Biomass Boiler not driving cleaner motor relay. ENERTRES BIOMASA BI-650
    by edugimeno
    Hi everyone!
I have this board that suddenly stopped supplying power to an output that drives an interchanger cleaner motor.
I checked while the board was in place with all wires attached and there's no AC voltage on the corresponding plug X5
This X5 is driven by fuse F8 (tested OK) which comes from the second orange relay
To make sure there are no charcoaled contacts inside the relay, I got a 24VDC power supply and got it ready to manually power up the coil side of these relays.
I respected the polarity, positive to cathode of protecting diode
    So provided all...

samsung plasma ps50 c580g1k slow tripping relay
    by jimbofz
Hi ,this appears to have 2 faults
black lines on raster and faulty main board ?
    let me explain futher
at switch on the relay does a few slow clicks with red led blinking and repeats every 10 seconds .i ran the psu into 2x 100w lamps and it runs fine all day supplies good .
i removed y sus and x sus checked for dry joints and checked all igbt anf fets all ok
next i removed buffer and checked for any s/c buffer ics all ok
so i unplugged feed to main board from logic board and linked test points pin 3 and 4 ,
tv still trips but now i get plain...

Mitsubishi CNC switching power supply board dead / relay board bad diode failure
    by sam_sam_sam
I was working on this CNC machine today found no keyboard functioning no control relay powering on
The screen powered on and was giving an operation error but the manual was not very clear about what the error exactly was but with a little bit of troubleshooting and finding out that the control relays not powering on and no keyboard functions we narrowed down to this one switching power supply which of course does not have any indicator LED light they are on the keyboard interface/relay controller board

Found shorted diodes on main controller relays there are 3 of them that...

    PILZ PNOZ X4 Safety Relay
    by fadi90
    Hi everyone,

I'm working on repairing a Pilz PNOZ X4 safety relay module. When I opened it up, I found some of the connector pins detached from their pads. I replaced the connector with individual wires, but the issue remains.

The module is set to dual-channel mode with manual start. In this mode:
    • Y36-Y37 and Y1-Y2 are bridged.
    • 24VDC is applied across A1-A2.
    • It monitors two emergency circuits (S11→S12 and S11→S52).
    • When both are closed (24V present on S12 and S52) and the start button is pressed (S33 connected to S34), the NO contacts (13-14, 23-24, 33-34)
    ...
