Samsung TV LE32M87BD image issue, turns off by itself, works perfectly after warm up

Hi, I got a TV from a friend to repair but I can't find the issue.

TV model is Samsung TV LE32M87BD, this is a link to the service manual.

The problem is shown in the videos below:

    Samsung screen freeze + reboot

I put the exact moments in the description when the tv fails. After being 12-15 minutes rebooting, the tv works perfectly

Samsung screen colors issue + reboot

This is trying with another source via EXT 2 I think. different image issue but same behaviour of rebooting.

I've added some pictures of the TV as well.

In the picture of the main board with the T5 yellow label I am pointing a capacitor that I did not repair, I already got it that way, as it look non original, but it has been there for years as my friend told me without knowing it.

In the picture of the sub board with the T23 yellow label I am showing you another capacitor that I changed one month ago due to another issue very well known in this model, so that capacitor I checked it again and works perfectly.

And in the general picture of the TV, I am pointing that:

    - Removing connector A (to Tcon), B (to sub board) and C (to inverter), and turning on the TV, the TV still reboots by itself, so I guess is not a problem of any of those boards, but I am not sure.

    - I checked the voltages in 1 (all correct) and in 2 (which are different when working perfectly than when the tv is not able to show any picture, black screen).

I tried to follow videos on youtube about troubleshooting but I do not what to check, I can't measure capacitors in circuit either, but if you need any voltage of any data with the meter I can give it.

    Any idea?

on the main input board, under the shield there is 2 surface mount caps, 1000uf 16v, change them, and should solve your problem, you don't have to use surface mount caps to replace them as long as the ones you use are small enough to lay down to get the shield back on,

You mean the shield labelled as T5 right? I update the post when I remove the shield then.

I just removed the shield as you can see in the pictures but I can't find those capacitors you mentioned.

The brown capacitator is 2200uF 16V, and the blue one is 100uF 25V. The rest appear clear in the pictures.

I only could check the blue one. My meter is up to 200uF and that one is ok, it gave me 130uF, but no idea about the rest.

            Someone has already done repairs.
My notes say replace two 1000uf 10v for mainboard BN41-00813E. Brown cap was probably 1000uf 10v originally.

Yes, looks like that, but its been working for years. I asked whether it was repaired before, i'm waiting an answer, just to confirm if they bought it like that or not, for my knowledge because it an old model.

And, if i am not wrong, this is a BN41-00899A.

See the picture. I dont know whether this changes anything. There are two 1000uF 10v, one under the shield and another just below.

Edit: and is it possible to change it for the brown with different capacity when they repaired it? Apparently it would be because it's been working until now xD

I personally like to stay close to uf rating maybe a little higher. Ok to go up on voltage and temp. I would change the brown and the 1000uf below to 1000uf 16v
My notes also say for BN41-00988A

You mean, in the picture I'm attaching now, to change the brown and the one in the red square right?

The one in yellow should leave it there right? Just to confirm.

And just curiosity, how do you know what to change or not? is there a repair service manual or something?

And another thing, is it risky for the tv to change the brown cap for another with less capacity or it would only affect to the funcionality? I'll try to look for the diagrams and check its value but i'm down for the change anyway hehe

What a mess that is, get rid of the brown cap and replace with 1000uf 16v and replace the other 1000uf 10v surface mount cap. in red square with 1000uf 16v

the answer is experience over many years, but we still get lost sometimes,

                        Haha I know.

Ok, I'll replace them tomorrow then and post the results here, but, how do you know what to change so especifically? I'm new at this

because its a common problem with these boards, and there is loads of posts about the these caps.

Just to confirm, in the service manual posted in the op, both caps are 1000uF 10V

                            - C1110 2402-001263 C-AL,SMD;1000uF,20%,10V,WT,SMD,10x10
                            - C1177 2402-001263 C-AL,SMD;1000uF,20%,10V,WT,SMD,10x10

In fact, the black cylindric cap "repaired" was also 1000uF 10V, the current one is 1000uF 36V.

Just saying as I can't buy them until tomorrow morning

Nah, I changed both caps but the problem remains, same behaviour like in the videos.

It sucks because at first tv works always, so I have to wait for a couple of minutes to know whether the changes worked or not haha, but then it fails.

Another thing, my friend told me that the night that the tv began to fail, tv turned on by itself two times in the middle of the night until he plugged it out. Just if this info is valuable.

So, any ideas of what more to change? XD

Edit: From the dtv source I don't get any image, just the menus, but from scart source I get image but with the colors pumping until tv turns off.

try heating/cooling the mainboard and see if you can make fault appear quicker then narrow down the area your heating/cooling.

This is related to the caps. Anyways get back with the results after you finish replacing all the caps that everyone mentioned above, so then I can help you.

Yep, I tried that at the beginning but I didn't get anything clear, I'll try again heating from tv cold, I don't have anything to cool it down, just wait and blowing xD
