LG 55LE5400 with Network "Grayed out" in menu

    Hi folks,
I'd like to get your opinion on an issue I'm having with my LG 55LE5400. The TV is unable to connect to the internet. Even after multiple factory resets, it's showing "Network Settings" and "Network Status" grayed out in the "Network" Menu.

The processor on this board has gone through professional "reflow" process as the USB ports didn't work, the speakers were buzzing, and backlight was flickering, and no network --- after reflow and pin x-ray, all is working except the Network.

Could Ethernet be disabled somehow in the config? I know one of the gurus here suggested "Smart Remote" and accessing Service menus, but I don't know if this is applicable to this model, and I don't know where to look. Help is much appreciated.

yes, I have read it. Anything, in particular, you'd like me to refer to in the manual? This is not my first LE series, and I don't recall issues with Ethernet (wired) with previous sets.
what I'm referring to is page 56 of the manual you kindly provided a link to, lists Network Setup / Network Status.. these two items are grayed out.
Connected Ethernet cable doesn't generate any Activity / Link LEDs to activate on the TV or on the Ethernet switch - it's like the port is disabled, or turned off.

I couldn't find any other menu, user accessible at least to enable Ethernet. I was wondering if it could be in service menu? or what you guys thought about this scenario?

Turned off in the service menu? there is a android app posted in one of the lg threads that may get you into the service menu without the proper lg service remote.

That's exactly what I need help checking. I downloaded the SmartRemote.. got into the service menu.. but I don't know where to look for enabling / disabling Ethernet. (I did look through all the menus, but I can't seem to find it in plain english, and maybe someone knows?)
              Thank you

                Home network connection problem
                by davg
I just bought a new ThinkPad laptop and I need to connect it to my home network. I have several computers on my network and can see each other in File Explorer and the older ones can communicate with each other (even with the new one) but the ThinkPad can see the other computers but can't communicate with them. I get the (network error 0x80070035 The network path not found). I tried several scenarios that I found on line but none of them worked?? Since the other computers on the network can communicate fine I'm assuming the problem is with the setup of the ThinkPad? All computers are running Windows...

Maximum speed should be marked on network ports
                by japlytic
I noted that a number of consumer entertainment devices have the maximum speed marked on the wired network port and considering that there are broadband plans faster than 100 Mbit, the wired network port can be a bottleneck since some routers do not have Gigabit (only 100 Mbit) support for the WAN port let alone the wired network ports.

One other thing: Certain low cost network cables only have two pairs which limits speed to 100 Mbit.

TV Samsung UE55HU8500L (2014) – service menu + firmware reflashing advice needed
                by Robby-Gr
                Hi all,

I’m trying to recover a Samsung UE55HU8500L (curved UHD, 4K model from 2014) after replacing the panel. The new panel is a 55A1UU8EH, which produces excellent image quality — very close to the original.

However, since the swap, the TV enters a boot loop (Samsung logo → restart) unless I enter the service menu and perform a reset.

The service mode had been previously modified — possibly by a technician or during the panel swap — and I suspect some key settings are mismatched for the European (Greece) market.

                Additional issues:...

SYMSI70 gas heater, TOP247Y exploded, power supply, snubber network
                by hikomalek
Hello, I have a SYMSI70 gas heater board, which has issues with its primary side power supply, controlled by TOP247Y chip.
When I replace a TOP247Y it explode in 1 second. I have desoldered transformer and measured a winding ratio, so transformer looks like OK.

                Transformer:

                |Info| Primary | Aux | AB | CD|
                |-|----------|----------|-|-|
                |Ratio|1|25|40|12|
                |Voltage AC|230V|9.2V|5.8V|19V|
                |Voltage DC (*1.41)|230V|13V|8.1V|27V|

I have disabled a undervoltage protection of TOP247Y, disconnected secondaries and tried to power it up...
