Sony KDL-55EX720 5/7 Flash Error

Hi, so this is where I am currently at on my Sony KDL-55EX720.

My TV was struck by lightning (on a surge protector) but still got hit.

So this is what I have troubleshooted and where I currently am at.

TV won't come on, and am getting a 7 blink error code. This is typically indicative of a bad main board (BATV board per sonys service manual). So i ordered a replacement and swapped it out and now I have a 5 blink error code so I am assuming the main board was bad. I put the old one back in at still 7 blinks.

5 blinks per sony's repair/service manual says T-con is your culprit or a communication error, but it could also be panel/BATV or even power board. I've tested voltages so I don't think the power board is my culprit but their are technically 3 different power boards on this TV. I also don't think my main is bad as the blink code has changed. LVDS cable looks to be fine as well so I don't believe it is a communication issue.

Does anyone have any insight on how to test this to confirm T-con or panel? I don't want to sink any more money into the TV if the panel is what is causing my problem.

Check for voltage at your t-con fuse

Just tested. Looks like panel took out the t-con. Thanks.

You could try disconnecting the panel from the t-con
