LG 60lf6090 Horizontal Faint lines only in darker shades of grey

I have read many posts on the Horizontal lines, but I feel those are different then the issue I am seeing as they have distinct horizontal lines in the picture. Whereas mine the picture is fine until you start getting into the darker not so bright shaded areas containing grays. I am curious if this might be a TCON issue or Mainboard. Maybe cables as I have seen that mentioned in a few posts. I will attach the images of what I am talking about. Notice the standard parts of the picture seem to be perfectly fine but the gray's

I am hoping this has been run into before and I am just missing the previous post but I could not find it based on this specific model either by google or forum search.

Forgot to mention I have tried from multiple sources to the TV to see if the lines would go away. This actually happens without any external source. If you look at the LG screen indicating no source connected the problem is prevalent. Just as it is on the Short lived LG Boot screen.

Can confirm my 60LF6090-UB is also exhibiting this EXACT annoying condition as of this week. Is this a panel failure symptom or is there any hope to save my 60 inch?

Looks like bad gate driver, maybe try the "cut tape" method, sometimes you have to play with position of tape : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7vl7-vZEL8

Thanks for the reply. The symptom for the LG in that link is different than symptom I'm currently experiencing on my 60 inch. My symptoms look just like the pictures in the OP's original post and there are very few instances of this exact symptom documented, much less reported as fixable.

Thanks all for your suggestions and experience.

I uploaded the same pics to the forum for posterity and longevity in case the image host disappears one day.

Your tv is a 5 year old 1080 p tv, BELIEVE me, it's nothing we haven't seen a thousand times over.

                  Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
                  by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
                  by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...
