Re: Samsung TV, sound ok, backlight ok, no picture - model LE32S71B
As promised, giving feedback about repair results. After replacing t-con tv is working, replacing caps get rid of double-triple restarting when powering tv with hdmi to laptop and buzzing sounds from back of tv (i could see that laptop screen was blinking couple times before it finally connected, now it always works on 1st attempt)
final cost
damaged tv - free
caps ~ 2 dollars
t-con ~ 11 dollars
What i've noticed
on broken t-con part KL5T3001 didnt even get warm, on working t-con you can just feel it's working, quite easy to get purpose of metal t-con cover connected with thermopad to this part. There was a lot of dust in tv(it is like 10 years old, 2006 or 2007 release, never cleaned), quite possible it just fried because of heat and completely dusted ventilation ribsLeave a comment:

With voltmeter you may pick up some voltage on data lines to maybe confirm mainboard is sending data to t-con but no substitute for oscilloscopeLeave a comment:

Re: Samsung TV, sound ok, backlight ok, no picture - model LE32S71B
I also found datasheet of my lcd panel so i might be able to check if there is signal between main board and t-con before i replace it if recapping of psu wont help. service manual for tv didnt include lcd panel and t-con board. (still have only multimeter, not osciloscope, but always something)
if anyone needs it in future i will make stamp for google search

make sure you try to get low esr capacitors 105c rated some of the cheap 85c rated general purpose ones may not work if you can get panasonic capacitors in the fc fm fr series you should be fineLeave a comment:

Re: Samsung TV, sound ok, backlight ok, no picture - model LE32S71B
Two left disconnected - right part of screen gets white, left part of screen is black
Two right disconnected -, right is white, left is black but with one brighter vertical stripe
same if i restart tv
during that test i was playing youtube by hdmi so sound was still up on tv speakers
Also change those capacitors on the psu too can you also upload a picture showing the whole top side of the psuLast edited by vinceroger69; 03-18-2017, 09:15 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung TV, sound ok, backlight ok, no picture - model LE32S71B
I was checking testing poits on left side of t-con board(there is problem with it, because i have no idea which one should give which voltage). Some of them look ok according to measurements made by people in web, but noone checked TP510 - i dont have any voltage here. there is also no voltage on TP1-3 and TP7
Wanted to check LVDS cable, but main boards listed in manual are different than the one i have ( BN94-01202A) and i dont know which pin is what forLeave a comment:

i measured that blue SMD which i suppose is fuse, there is a 12.3V on both ends. I dont see any other SMD that looks like fuse on that board

Left side is where voltages are produced for t-con so fuse would be along lower left side. 12vLeave a comment:

Re: Samsung TV, sound ok, backlight ok, no picture - model LE32S71B
Sadly cannot find any fuse on the t-con board, i think i will have to find some service manual with schematics
#EDIT I think there is a fuse under 1R0 resistor (blue one with N on it - so small that i cannot read it clearly), there is continuity between ends, didnt try to measure voltage as im not sure if im touching proper thingLast edited by Ancymon0; 03-17-2017, 11:08 AM.Leave a comment:

Is there any possibility that changing caps will fix the problem and everything will start working as intended?Leave a comment:

by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered... -
by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by gl4709I am working on a Samsung un55cu7000d which has backlights and audio. There is no picture. This model does NOT have a separate TCON board. Before I order a main board I would like to try and confirm that the issue is not in the display. The ribbon cable from the main board goes directly to the display and I can then disconnect the left from the right. When I disconnect the right side the display lights up on one side but has no video being displayed. Can you all give me some guidance on how to confirm the main board is the issue.

by LaPCon_ITTV has one combo board (VTT55UH160). Symptoms are like this.
When part of the screen is disconnected (white part), it looks like this
Resistance and voltages (I don't know if they are good or not). The inductor with 0ohm/0V seems to be connected to GND.
I haven't noticed any shorts on rails listed below:
VGH - 30V
VGL- -9V
VAA - 14V
VCOM - 5.6V
STV - 11.95V
LC1, LC2 - +30/-12V
All CKV lines (no shorts between them) looks the same:
I've tried to cover some lines with...7 Photos12-15-2023, 03:55 AM - Loading...
