    LG 37LC7D black screen cycling

    Hello,
Glad to have joined up here A great resource !

I've searched for this particular problem but found nothing close so here goes:

LG 37LC7D lcd tv. A freebie.

Problem: upon turning on after 5 green blinks power light goes solid green TV powers on and screen comes up but after a few seconds blacks out then comes back up and blacks out again. it is totally black with no backlight 'ghosting' . Power light remains solid green.
This continues at regular intervals every 2-3 seconds while powered on.

Signal is getting to the tv since I can see whatever is connected/selected to it in those few seconds. Menu is accessible but visible only when screen comes up for those few seconds each time.

So I started off by replacing the PSU caps that were bulging badly even the ones not indicating failing. There were several that I did not replace since the caps kit I bought did not supply them and it was noted I didnt need to unless signs of obvious failure was present ( the dreaded bulging).

Once replacement was complete i fired it up and it still has the same problem stated above.

Any recommendations as to my next step in troubleshooting ?

can you take a clear picture of how the boards are all connected in your set also one of each of the board and include the board numbers then the best place to start is too take voltage readings on the power supply and make sure they are correct also a capacitor does not have too be bulged to of failed it can also fail because of high esr

thanks for the quik reply & link !
Will get a photo posted later this afternoon (pacific time USA).
I did consider that a bulging cap is not the only indicators of failure. As mentioned there are 2-3 that were not replaced since the kit did not include these, Id o have a multimeter to test voltages etc.
      Will be updating later.

top right of the psu under the metal cover is the tcon board and under the large shield too the right of the psu is the main board what you really need to do is turn the tv on and take dc volt readings of the two grey wire connectors on the psu if you can write down the dc volts and any writing by the side of that pin your testing ie 5v - 5vstby etc that way we can see what voltages are missing if any.

You can also check all the solder joints of the transformer shown bottom left hand side of picture 1 where the pink high tension cable is. These can have poor joints over time.
Also check that the pink cable has not been cut/scuffed where it touches the metal panel.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Upon cking all multi pin connectors prior to MM testing of voltages, one of two on the lower left side of PSU bd was loose and after re-seating several times for a solid connect I powered TV on and viola ! A fully operational LG .

I thank you guys for quik replies and pointed troubleshooting guidance.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                  by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
                  by smic717394
                  Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Carver CM-1090 - Power relay clicking on & off, then fuse blown after 20-30 seconds of power cycling.
                  by beetle1303
I gotten a Carver CM-1090 amplifier from a friend who has kept it in storage for decades. Opened it up, thick layer of dust cumulated everywhere. Vacuumed it semi-cleaned, and blown off as much as possible the remaining dust. This is a 220V version.

On initial powered up with nothing connected - it works with all the lights and button indicator lit up as pressed, etc. I then powered off, connected a CD player into the CD RCA input and powered it on. It seemed to work for a short while and when I turned the volume up and down to see the the VUs works, the power started to clicked off...

                  Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
                  by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

ipad pro 9.7" blew a SMD component while replacing the screen 🤦‍♂️
                  by ipatch
i have an ipad pro 9.7" (1st gen) A1674 where i replaced the screen, but never attached the screen to the frame/chassis (glued down) due to the ipad being previously dropped so the new screen would never fit in the frame properly. so i need flex/bend the chassis to eventually fix the new screen in properly. so i temporarily just applied blue tape around the edges of the screen to keep it in place. when watching videos with the ipad the screen started flicker, so i though maybe the new quasi cheap amz screen i purchased was going out. so i disconnected then reconnected with power still on,...
