what can I safely swap them with?

There are a ton of them on ebay. The cheaper ones are surface mount, I would trust them to be REAL. I have soldered them to a brite shinny penny, for the heatsink, and some stiff wire soldered to the legs to go through the holes. Its called "cheap mother f er" fix.
