    Sharp LC-60LE651

    Hi all.
I have been googling my issue and i found this site and by reading other topics here i think you all could assist me with some guadiance regarding my LCD TV i won't give up on.

The TV is approx 2 years.

Its seems like the TV has started living its own life.

    1. It could power on it self randomly, mostly at night after a few hours of using it during the evening.

    2. It has started to hang during startup. I can start the TV and standby LED changes colour to on but it never boots up. To solve this issue ill have to unplug it, wait for a couple of mins, sometimes hours or days and then it runs fine again for a few days. This model has only touch buttons and these ones do not work for recycle power when the TV does not start. If i use the remote, i can see that the TV i recieving signal "led flashing when pressing" but i cant turn it off or anything else.

    3. When it start like it should do, after the standby led turns to on, the Sharp logo is presented and the TV start. Sometimes, this actually happens twice upon starting. The Sharplogo is presented, then it powers off the display and after a few seconds, the Sharplogo is presented once again.

    4. After some time running, the audio stops working and forces me to unplug it to get it back. Even if i use the remote to restart, it does not go back.

    5. It could totally freeze, which also forces me to unplug it from the wall.

From looking around, it seems like this is some problem with the powerboard and i am looking for some advice regarding this.

Could it be bad caps or is it somehow more advanced and not worth look further into?

I have taken a good look to see if i could find any obvious damaged components but they all seem fine. I will more than happy change most of the caps if you all think i could cause the problem.

I have attached a picture of the board.

    All advice are much appreciated.

    Best regards
    Mike

    Re: Sharp LC-60LE651

I owned this TV for just over a year until it was replaced by the retailer under extended warranty, my Girlfriends parents also own one of these, buying theirs a whole year before I purchased mine.

I've experienced all the problems you describe, as have my future in-laws. Its no fault, its just the way they are - very temperamental. I've seen this on two separate TV's running different Firmware versions.

Also a couple of issues you might be unaware of, the backlight noticeably flickers or blinks roughly once per second if set below 100, very noticeable at 30 or below. HDMI 4 (Side Input) also does not like resolutions above 720p/1080i - When running at 1080p my PS3, SkyQ, Netgem PVR FireTV Stick all dropped out with multi coloured snow, green screens etc, this issue lead to the TV being written off and replaced (again both TV's have this issue)

Nice TV's but its a shame they messed up the software side of things.

      Re: Sharp LC-60LE651

      Thanks for the reply.

Yes, we were a bunch of us here at work who bought the same model and we have all encountered the below issues except for the startup problem.

The other issues, i can live with but the problems regarding starting up is a real pain since it can take days before it starts again. And this is something that has started to happen every week now. Before, it could happen once every third month but was quickly fixed by unplugging the power cord.

Now, its a real struggle. I can unplug the power cord 10 times in a row and the TV won't start. If I leave it unplugged for a day, it could start.

      Best regards
      Mike

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
        by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

        Sharp LC-80LE661U 80 inch
        by gavenb
        Hi folks!
I have a LC-80LE661U that had some interesting issues.
Initially, it would come on and show the sharp logo and would show normal static before shutting off.

I started troubleshooting by disconnecting the led lighting strips and turning it on. It would do the same thing - come on, show the sharp logo and shut off. After reading, it was suggested to replace the main board. That was replaced and the same symptoms resulted. After this and some reading, the parts cannon got loaded up. I replaced the power board, same issue. Replaced the Tcon board and now it...

Sharp 80” long short flash backlight error - Help
        by Superbee_dad
        Hello Sharp TV experts
Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.

        > I checked voltages on the power supply board and they all check out .. including 3.28 volts at the error pin.
        > There is power to the cpu and T-CONN and no faults found there. The cpu has a flashing...

TV Sharp LC-49CFE6242E - not working
        by betmen
        Hello,
I get one old TV, Sharp LC-49CFE6242E which is not working.
When turning on the TV, the inscription SHARP is displayed on the screen and after a few seconds the TV turns off.
So far I haven't found what voltages should be at the output of the power supply and I haven't made any measurements.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
