Well... this process got me somewhere.

I've tested the TV... yesterday ot worked for 3 hours.
Today... 15 minutes. And now backlight it is constantly off!

Well... this could also mean two things:
    1. my soldering skills are like 8year-old-kids'...
    2. some faulty LED finally broke...

I would like it to be the 2nd one.

    I'll open it again tomorrow.

Oh... yeah... status: sound is on... picture is on... backlight is off.

Here are the photos of exposed LED strips, one connector to the strip (all looked the same and all looked ok), middle connector with four lines, and connector to the PSU (I did not resolder this one... did not think I should).

while the sets apart can you test each led lights up you can use your multimeter or a 3v battery there are some really good guides on youtube.

That is what I was waiting for. When I had backlights than all the LEDs were working. Now when I have no backlight that means what I can pinpoint the faulty one. It will be totally disappointing if I find out that my soldering made a short circuit somewhere... I'll report what I find.

I wanted to open my TV today and check LEDs... but when I powered it on... it still works.
            The LEDs are still working.

i hate faults like this some sets do work for a while whist cold/cool but as things warm up they expand and cause issues etc its just finding the faulty joint/part.

I thought it finally broke down. That way I could find what was wrong with it... but no... still works.
Yestarday it worked for 6 hours without any problem.

i was wondering that to as none of the pictures show the bridge wires some people have got away with just adding fresh solder to the pcb contacts (side strip) but as you say bridging them is the best way im sure you have a picture somewhere showing this method.

Yes. All LED strips bridged. After bridging I could not get it to work one whole day. And thought that that was it.
                          But now it works.

No... I did not make any photo after bridging. I made 10cm long isolated wires and soldered those between led strips and board. I also made connection at that 4pin connector. Upper two are connected and lower two also. I bridged that connector with two wires. I'm now waiting for it to stop working. I'll make photos when I open it again.

thats the best way to bridge them so it should work fine but as you say until it fails again its hard to fault find is the tv fully rebuilt up with back on etc just incase its a heat related fault.

                                I opened it. Fanally!
                                And checked connections. Everything ok.
I've soldered wires to bridge connections with the strip. I've made those longer just to ensure that I do not have to resoledr if I need to remove some strip.

I have LED strips with 9 LEDs. I've connected each strip to 24V PSU.
All worked! But one stripe had a bit faint light and one LED that did not work!
Then I removed a lense from the LED and now I cannot identify the type.
Photos uploaded: connection with wires to LED strips, connection in the middle of printed board, LED with lense removed, faulty LED.
Please help me with identification of this faulty LED!
Dimensions are as of 3528... 3.5mm (with soldered ends) and 2.8mm.

Conclusion of this whole thing: operation successcu! Patient dead!

I've managed to remove old LED, replaced it.

But at the end I realised that I forgot those plastic central suports for the screen... and reopened it... and than cracked the edge of the screen while closing the box.

Well... it was fun. I've made a hot air station for this. Learned alot. Thank you all for the help!

                                        Hello
                                        Model Code Sharp LC-40FG3141K

Firstly perhaps I should save myself the agony and throw this set out ? Then again I hate E-waste , or giving a person further headace in the far east or Agbogbloshie . So I digress to my last hope of fixing this pile of shite , with the dash of hope from your combined experiences

So this set is randomly turning off its backlight ( could be days, hours, minutes or seconds ) , my research suggests this maybe an over current protection , or leaky/faulty LEDS , or a bad LED driver circuit . So I opened it up , stabbed my Multi...

Hello everyone from Italy, I'm here to ask for help on a Vestel TV, I've had a Vestel TV branded "XD" with a broken screen for years, but now I've found a Telefunken (still Vestel but older) and I've mounted the panel on the "XD" TV, it works, but the screen is upside down, given that Vestel does not allow you to rotate the image from the service menu, does anyone know how to solve the problem? the original panel is marked ves315WNDS-2D-N12 while the main board 17mb110, the panel I mounted instead in the tv (from the telefunken) is a ves315WNDA-02. ... It is not worth repairing...

Hi, I was recently given a Bush Smart TV by a friend and the main board seems to be hanging on by a thread.

Before we get to that, my first obstacle was figuring out the model number since the back sticker has gone for a walk. Upon taking off the back case, I noticed the following Vestel parts, 17MB95m mainboard, 17IPS71 (what I'd assume is power supply) and a VES420UNVL-3D-S02 display panel. After doing some research I think the TV I have is a Bush ELED42240FHDCNTD3D, based on the matching image here (https://www.manualslib.com/manual/11...td3d.html#manu...

This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Sharp Aquos Lc-80LE757U flashing Sharp on screen when plugged in

I have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...
