Re: Grundig 32 LXW 82-8600 DL (XLA194-03 PSU)
There is a negative coefficient thermistor hidden under silicone blob. When this area is heated with a heat gun I can power the TV without problems. Can thermistor go bad? Or something around that place? There are no cold joints around that place on the board....

Re: Grundig 32 LXW 82-8600 DL (XLA194-03 PSU)
I have something like this:
https://www.elektor.com/media/catalog/product/cache/80915e949b605ba30632933a1ad7c951/6/1/61mz_loh9_l._sl1000_.jpg
Maybe I could connect multimeter probes to it and check.
But... is it possible to make "in circuit" measurements?Re: Grundig 32 LXW 82-8600 DL (XLA19...000_.jpg...

Re: Grundig 32 LXW 82-8600 DL
I've got a different power board.
I replied to a previous post with photos (as I should have and not open a new thread).

Re: Grundig 32 LXW 82-8600 DL (XLA194-03 PSU)
I have the same model, and the same problem... but it has a different power board.
Is the capacitor I'm looking for on the right from the bottom transformer? Left from the three blue capacitors (C29) and diode (D5)... where the white silicone blob is.
I'm asking because you did not provide a photo with metal plate removed and I can only guess what is under it......Last edited by bbccbb; 12-03-2020, 08:49 PM.

Re: Grundig 32 LXW 82-8600 DL
Thank you!
This post is exact replica of my problem!

Re: Grundig 32 LXW 82-8600 DL
Ok... thank you.
I'll try to see if changing: options 0, standby does the trick.
If not than Adjustments, reset...
I'll report back.

Grundig 32 LXW 82-8600 DL
The problem is with starting the TV.
When it receives power it does not go into standby mode (from which it could be woke up to show the program).
I have to switch power button on and off for cca 30-50 times and at some point it goes into standby mode in which I can use my remote to start watching the TV. If it loses power than I have to go throught the whole process again.
Can somebody explain the standard process of switching the TV on?
Just to try to understand where the problem could be.Last edited by bbccbb; 11-21-2020, 05:02 PM.

Re: Samsung UE55JU6872UXXH - Lower third darker
Ok... here are the recorded sounds.
First one is sound recorded at the central transformers after switching the TV off. This popping sound is audible at the moment TV receives power (stand by also).
The second sound is recorded near LED strips while turning the TV on from standby.
Sounds placed inside a .zip file....

Re: Samsung UE55JU6872UXXH - Lower third darker
No... I moved lower horizontal strips (those that did not light up) 2mm up and then down just to reconnect with vertical power strip. After doing that BL lit up.
Maybe I should do that with all horizontal strips.
I can also hear popping sounds from power board when I connect the power cable. Not turning the TV on... just plugging it into socket.
Popping sound originates from transformers with multiple leads, packed in black plastic, located in the middle of the board.
And a bit strange...Last edited by bbccbb; 04-14-2019, 04:09 PM.

Re: Samsung UE55JU6872UXXH - Lower third darker
This kind is special.
Other ones have the cros cut around them and I do not think I have to pull them out. Only these few that are white.
And I can see others at the back... and I think that they cannot be removed.
I'll make some photos.

Re: Samsung UE55JU6872UXXH - Lower third darker
Is there a way to know which strips do I need for my TV without getting to the basklights and looking at them?
Shopjimmy has two:
Samsung BN96-38880A/BN96-38881A Replacement LED Backlight Strips (18)
Samsung BN96-38481A/BN96-38482A LED Backlight Strips (18)
I suppose it would be best to replace them all and not try to find faulty one, right?...
