I have a PS64D8000 that will not come out of standby
I begin by checking for Vs and I find 5vdc on it at all times (should be 217) This is present in both Standby and On.
Power off and I then put the meter on ohms and check for short from X & Y boards by measuring resistance between Vs test point and GND and disconnect the X board, no changes to resistance reading @50k, disconnect Y board and again no change so still at 50k.
From this I assume that the X and Y boards are not killing the Vs but to be sure I powered up with X&Y disconnected, now this particular model will shut down the SMPS immediately if X or Y are disconnected on power up but if you attach volt meter to Vs test point before power on you should be able to quickly see Vs go to full voltage then drop back to zero but I get nothing apart from a few mV.
I now move onto the logic board which is powering on ok and test the Ps on and all is good at 3.3v so test the Vs on signal in standby and its at 0v (as it should be in standby), bring it out of standby and it goes briefly to 3.3v then quickly back to 0v,
I do not know if it should remain at 3.3v or not ??? so any help with that would be appreciated.
There is a green led on the logic board that flashes on and off every 3 seconds but I don't know if this means everything is ok or not.
Main board is also powering up ok.
I cannot test for Vsc or Ve as they are generated by the Y board from the supplied Vs
I am leaning towards a faulty SMPS at the moment (mainly because of the constant 5v being present on Vs and no Vs reading with X&Y disconnected) but would appreciate any other ideas/input please.
