    50pm680t not turning on

    Hi

My mates tv wont turn on. Standby light turns on and is on constantly but when the remote is pressed the standby light blinks once and goes back to red.

I've disconnected the psu from the main board and attached 2 X 0.25watt resistors 330ohm (as per bdacaps page 2 Re: LG Plasma 50PA5500) and disconnected the lvds cribbon from the tcon board (with a linkbetween ext and auto gen) hoping to get the patterns but the tv still didnt turn on.

Has anybody repaired one of these power supplys before? (I checked the green cap and its reading 22ohm)

    Any help would be appreciated

Unsolder and lift one end of the green cap and measure again. It should read OL when tested.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

      My mistake I meant 22uf.

The green cap has the following written on it FL 1.25KV 223H S'M36 so I assume the above reading is fine?

Hisense 55h8f, standby ok, not turning on

Symptoms: Not turning on after pressing power button on tv. Standby red light on power button turns on when plugged in. Pressing power button on tv causes standby led to turn off for 2 seconds, and then back on red until power is removed (no longer responsive).

Tried: Removing power, holding power button, returning power. No change.

Opened back and inspected all boards, no obvious damage anywhere.

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
          by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

un60j620dafxza - Samsung No Display Problem
          by stylishconsultant
          Hi All,

          Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

Vizio D50u-D1 Dead Set No Standby
          by fharris1977
Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.
