    Vizio e601i-a3e - No Backlight

I have a Vizio e601i-a3e everything works but the backlight. I have sound and picture (visible with flashlight).

I have watched a pile of videos and tested everything. Now I'm wondering if its the LEDs or the power to the LEDs. I just cant find a video that tells me how to test the LED power section of the PowerBoard before I order a new one..

Can you post a photo of the connector and legend alongside since pins 1 - 15 don't mean an awful lot without it.

All the voltages appear to be correct.
BL_ERR appears to be showing a backlight error with the voltage being at 3.32V.
What voltage do you have at the led outputs when you first switch on. It may go high but drop very quickly.

A photo of the led connections and legend would also be useful

            - Attached LED connector pic
            - Watched video (dont know how I missed that one)

When I first turn on the tv I get a reading at (VLED1-1+) of 15v - 16v and then it drops to 0 like you said.

I watched the video and tested the pins like shown
            LED connector, Connected
            all pins = 0.0's

            LED connector, NOT Connected
            all pins = 0.0's

Is there anything else to try before buying a new power board?

Post a sharp picture of the underside of your board so that the IC's can be clearly seen. If you add it as an attachment it makes it easier to zoom in.

What is written on top of U302?

                  Edit
I think the led driver IC of interest may be under the white blob close to U302.

That is the LED controller chip. Can you carefully measure the DC voltages at the following pins of the LX27901IC
                      Pin 1 = VCC
                      Pin 2 = Enable
                      Pin 7 = Fault
                      Pin 16 = VDD

Can you also check D303, D304, D307 & D308 with your meter in diode mode.

Unfortunately it's not that unusual that the OP never closed the thread with working / not working / replaced?

Post your voltages as per post 6 giving pin number, name and voltage read on pins 1 to 15

The voltages appear to be OK. I'm not sure about BL_ERR (3.28V)

Using a bright light can you see an image on the screen. You may have to angle the light and press the menu button on the remote so as to have an image.

I would next check the voltages at the connector shown in post #6. Put you meter on each terminal and chassis then power up and see how high the voltage rises and report. Repeat for each terminal pin.
