I'm having a hard time getting started trouble shooting this TV. When I got it, it would turn on (I get green light and backlight) but I got no picture or any sound. I just got some vertical greenish lines on the left side of the screen. I took the panel apart and touched the flex cables connected and there was no change. I switched inputs and no change or sound. So I guessed it was the main board. So I found a mainboard on ebay, installed it, and the exact same behavior as before. I was sure it was the main board because I got NO respose from volume, input, menu, nothing. But it's still doing the same thing. I have a meter and I'm going to test the voltages now, but I'm pretty stumped. Any advise on where to start?

Re: Need help with Toshiba 32AV502R TV. No picture or sound, just lines
This is what it looks like.
Update: I finally got sound from the TV. I kept switching through the inputs and turning up the volume until I got a noise from the Apple TV menu. I can hear clearly but there is no movement on the screen. There are greenish white vertical lines across the whole screen now. I'm guessing that the panel is bad. It's just strange that I can't seem to agitate the problem by touching the flex cables. So, am I right in assuming the panel is bad?Last edited by shaundh; 10-27-2016, 06:56 PM. -

by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -
by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by jord4231Hi Everyone,
I'm working on a Toshiba 37AV500A Regza TV.
The issue:
TV was working picture and sound went out. Green stand by light stayed on, It will respond to the power button being pressed (goes in and out of standby)
The TV will very intermittently work for around 40 mins then stop. This doesn't seem to matter if its hot/cold unplugged for a while etc.
I checked the PSU voltages and everything looked good.
No bulging caps or signs of heat.

by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... - Loading...
