vizio e470i-A0 no backlight, also no sound makes diagnosis confusing

Hi everyone. My first thread, hoping for some help.

My grandpa has this e470i-a0, he was watching and the screen went black, sound continued. After a minute or so the sound also stopped. I have it now, I can plug a laptop into an hdmi port and see the picture with the flashlight test. Testing backlight power supply, the voltage should be about 100v but it oscillates between 120-130v, return pins are also out of spec. Obviously the leds are bad. Display panel is LC470DUG-JFR1-KR1-B.

If it worked otherwise the fault would obviously be the led strips, but I can't get sound either. I tried tv buttons and the remote volume up, mute/unmute, etc. but no sound. If I take the same laptop and hdmi cable and plug into another tv, I get sound no problem. Is there anything else I might try?

So, can you help me determine if my vizio has more than one problem (say, bad backlight strips and a bad main board?) or if these two might be related to a single problem (say, weak/failed power supply board)?

PSU board is marked Samsung 0500-0614-0270. I have tested all inputs and outputs to/from the board and they are exactly in spec with the tv on and off.

If I have only one problem to fix I'll probably tackle it, otherwise its for the recyclers.

    Thanks.

PS feel free to suggest component-level testing or repair, my soldering skills are up to snuff, though I don't have a lot of advanced equipment.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

Vizio M65-E0 No Picture, No Sound
    by ggil44
Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB (Chassis SR) TV Repair Help - Distorted Subwoofer Sound and overall weird sound waveforms
    by LEECH666
    Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...
