    LG 60PK750 No Image

    Hello everyone,

I have a 6 year old LG 60PK750 plasma TV that just recently went out. Approximately a month ago it started to develop an issue where the colors would darken for a few seconds, and then they would go back to normal. I thought it was a bad connection so I switched the HDMI cable to a different port. No change. A few weeks later the colors would darken for longer periods of time. Then when my wife was watching a show it simply lost the image. I'm not sure if it also lost sound as we use an external stereo. When turning the volume up I do not hear static through the speakers. Due to her messing with the remote to try and fix the issue I don't have a reliable way to play sound through the set.

Currently if I turn the set on it will stay on, and if I have the lights out the screen will glow. The only time it made a sound was a popping sound from the left speaker when I plugged in an HDMI cable. I haven't been able to reproduce it. I pulled the rear cover and noticed one of the HDMI ports was badly damaged. I have no idea how long it has been that way. I separated the pins (17[ground] and 15[DDC clock] were touching) and no change.

I tried to troubleshoot as best I could, but every other issue I came across had a dark screen where mine is glowing. I tested the power board outputs and they were all spot on, and all the fuses I could find tested out fine as well. Other than the damaged HDMI port there is no obvious damage. The set sounds normal when on. I am getting a green light on the logic board. It is blinking in a pattern, but I haven't had luck in finding a pattern description. I'm just not really sure where to go from here.

    Thank you for your help.

Attached are a few generic photos of the set. I can take any further ones needed.

    Disconnect cable P31 here.
Connect the 2 holes beside r51 and r52 with a piece of wire (paper clip etc)

    Turn on the tv.

If you have test patterns you have a faulty main board.

I did exactly as you said, and I have test patterns.

Thank you so much for the help. I will donate to the forum to help keep this valuable resource going.

I will post back after I replace the main board to confirm the repair.
