    Samsung plasma help (PN60F5300AF)

I have a 60 inch Samsung Plasma TV (PN60F5300AFXZA). It is about three years old. I went to turn it on one day and it wouldn't turn on. There was no video and no sound, but the standby light was on. I unplugged everything and let it sit overnight unplugged. I tried the next day to turn it on (with just the power cord plugged into the wall), and it still didn't turn on.

This is all new to me, so I did some research. Afterwards, I then took the back panel off of it and checked the capacitors. I couldn't find any that were bulging, obviously damaged or leaking. I tried individually unplugging the X and Y sustain boards from the power supply board to see if the TV would turn on, but it still wouldn't.

At the moment (with all the boards connected properly), the standby light comes on solid when plugged in. If I try to turn the TV on with the remote, the standby light blinks about ten times then remains off. (The standby light usually turns off when the tv is on). Any further input from the remote causes the standby light to flash, indicating that the TV is responding to the remote. When I go to turn the TV off with the remote, the standby light comes on solid (which is what usually happens when the tv is off). There is no video and no sound during all of this.

Also, when I try to turn the tv on, a green light on the main board blinks every five seconds. I've read that this indicates some sort of internal problem. The VS/VA voltage test points on the power board also drop from 208/57 to 11/0, respectively, when the tv is fully connected and turned on. On the Ysus board, the VE/VSC voltage test points stay at 11/0, respectively, which is lower than 108/-192 (what it's supposed to be).

I tried unplugging different ribbons and cables to see if I got any results.
I found that when the ribbon cable going from the main board to the Ysus and the cable going from the main board to the Xsus were unplugged (as pictures show), the green light on the main board blinks every second. Which I think is what's supposed to normally happen.

I think that the Ysus might need replacing, but I'm wondering what other board(s) could be causing this problem and what I could try next.

    Re: Samsung plasma help (PN60F5300AF)

Ok, so I checked the voltages on the back of the TV with a multimeter and found the Ve and Vsc voltages to be lower than their ratings. These are both located on the Y sustain board. I also checked the voltages coming into the Y sus board through the cable, and they all seemed normal. So, I concluded that the Y sustain board was bad.
After some research, I decided to replace the Y sustain, Y buffers, and X sustain. (I had read that the Y buffers should be replaced with the Y sustain, and that the X sustain should also be replaced due to the way the power cord is linked between the X and Y sustains.)
After receiving the correct parts, I replaced them and turned the TV on. The screen came on, but it had red blue and green sparklies all over it. I read that this can be fixed by adjusting the voltages to their proper values. I used the potentiometers to adjust the voltages to their proper valures. This reduced the sparklies, but some still remained (the worst part of the screen was the lower left corner). I then, after some more research, decided to slightly lower the Vs, Ve, and Vsc voltages until the sparklies were not noticable at the proper viewing distance. This worked out and now the picture is nearly perfect. The only problem is that some greys are not represented properly and make whiter images look sort of wierd. But it is watchable.

Good thing you fixed it yourself. You must use the voltages on the stickers , sparkles might go away after a few minutes.
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

LED TV Samsung The Frame 55 inch QE55LS03RAU Standby Light only
        by ChristianBr01
        Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...

Samsung QLED QE65Q7FNAT only standby light

        TV: Samsung QLED QE65Q7FNAT
        PSU: BN4400940A
        MB: BN94-12832K

I got the tv in spring 2024. At that time it started, then ran 60 sec and poweroff. Seemed like reboot issue. I didn't have time and room to check it in summer so I plugged it in and now the standby light is on. I press button on remote, standby light goes off and tries to start?. No picture or backlight on LCD. I thought about removing diodes like in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...sung-qled-q60r...

Samsung UN70NU6070F Standby Light flashes twice
        by Nicktronic
        Hey Everyone,

So I've got this Samsung and the reported issue is that when powered on the backlight comes on, but no picture, no sound, it will flicker, the standby light will flash red twice and repeat the whole process...each loop lasts about 15 seconds.

I've googled the issue and understand it is likely a panel/driver board issue, but was hoping the "tape method" could be successful. Before I did that though, I disconnected the left LVDS cable and powered the TV on. This time I got sound, no picture and the two blink standby light stopped. Did the same...

Samsung plasma - flashing standby light
        by 7ony
The TV is a 2013 Samsung plasma, model # PN60F5300AFXZA.

Snagged it up in non-working condition a couple years ago. Previous owner said that sometimes he could get it to come on after repeated tries but other than that he couldn't get it to turn on.

Personally I haven't been able to get it to turn on at all. The standby light comes on solid when plugged in, but pressing the power button results in the standby light flashing once every 4 or so seconds. No "click" noises, no light from the panel at all. Just the flashing standby light.

        No visible...

        Samsung UE60KS7000 No Standby Light
        by marcinq
        Hello,

I've got a problem with a Samsung UE60KS7000 that was given to me and said that there was a problem with the One Connect box but as I understand the TV should turn on even with the One Connect box disconnected (which it doesn't). There is no stand by light.

I've disconnected the Main Board from the PSU and when connecting to mains the backlight turns on which suggests the PSU might be ok. I've measured the voltages out of the PSU and they seem reasonable (like the labels say). The main board has no obvious burns, there are no shorts on the power rails anywhere....
