    Sharp PN-L702B, same as PN-E702

    Folks,

I am troubleshooting the backlight problem in this presentation monitor. The backlight is comprised of 14 pairs of LED strips; each strip has 15 LEDs => there are 30 LEDs in series per each driver channel.

The LED PSU has 14 channels. Each channel provides 180v DC so it appears that each LED sees 6v DC applied to its terminals.

According to page 12 of the attached LCD datasheet each individual LED sees 57ma of current passing through it.

I connected a 70v DC power supply to a series of 5 LEDs (instead of connecting a 90v DC power supply to the whole strip of 15 LEDs as I did later) for testing purposes and one LED went "zap!" before my eyes. Call me an idiot if you must. Should've bought that awesome automatic LED tester from China...

Now I am trying to replace this one LED that I burnt out of negligence. Attached are some pictures of one burnt LED and one good LED. Please note that this LED has two chips connected in series. It measures 2.8mm x 2.8mm and has a lens on top of it. It looks like one of those super bright Cree devices.

I have a bunch of LED strips scavenged from several Vizio TVs with busted screens. However they appear to be different (only one chip is visible) and I am reluctant to put one of those into the Sharp. I have attached a picture of a Vizio LED also.

Before I dive into the Digi-Key catalogue, could you folks please confirm my assumptions that I need an LED with 6v DC forward voltage, ~60ma current and presumably cool white illumination hue? Does anyone know what kind of LEDs Sharp uses?

    Update.

Bought a burnt strip from ebay for cheap and scavenged the LEDs. Soldered one onto the strip and now I have a functional (but still not working) backlight and a bunch of proper Sharp LEDs as spares. At least this problem is solved.

On the other subject. Does anyone know how to perform a hard reset on a Sharp that does not have physical volume buttons like for example the PN-L702B discussed here?

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
      by Pipolups
      Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

Sharp 70' LEDs Spike 260v at start up?
      by JayPoorJay
Hi all. This is my second thread. Have a bunch of questions.

I got my hands on a 70 inch Sharp Aquos LC70EQ10U. Not working when I found it.

I replaced the power board (found in eBay) and the TV finally produced an image. Reset it had image and sound.. Went from 2 slow and 2 fast blinks as a fault code to 1 slow 1 fast fault. Lamps or inverters according to the manual. TV is one now, at this moment (looks great w/ ZERO dark spots on screen) but it powering up and producing an image is unpredictable. 3 out of 10 times.

There are 3 leads to the LEDs....

      Hi There!
I'm trying to help my friend who owns a restaurant be just bought.
He has a very long LED strip running along all the walls and columns. The strip is attached facing down 2in above the floor, using a wall panel that ends in a metal rail that finishes the panel underneath
It's stuck using, I guess, the 2 sided tape that comes with the strip
The issue is that like 1/2 of the full length, including 1/2 one wall, another entire wall, and one column, flickers after 4 or 5 minutes ON. Particularly it flashes staying OFF most of the time and flashing ON for 1 tenth...

Sharp 80” long short flash backlight error - Help
      by Superbee_dad
      Hello Sharp TV experts
Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.

      > I checked voltages on the power supply board and they all check out .. including 3.28 volts at the error pin.
      > There is power to the cpu and T-CONN and no faults found there. The cpu has a flashing...

Adjustable dc power supply and tcl led strip
      by benareeno
I wonder if i shorted the whole strip...where to put pos and neg to just light up a single diode...or the entire strip. The strip lit for a second...so maybe i fried it? What say you?

I have an adjustable dc power supply and was trying around 9 volts.

I have a pic of a single diode...where to put pos and neg terminals to light it up?

Pic of middle of strip..is this where i light the entire strip?

And pic of end...or does this light the entire strip?

Where to put pos and neg for single diode..multiple diodes and the entire...
