    Cable TV box problem??

Friday we had new cable service installed. The converter box only uses HDMI to the TV.

First TV was a Sharp 47" that run properly for about 30 minutes then went out with no picture or sound, all it would do is click (relay?) a few times then totally shut down, dead.

Second TV was an RCA 40" that ran for about 6 hrs. total. It went to good picture, but sound was only static.

Third TV, after hooking it up and getting ready to program cable remote it started intermittent scratching and static. So without going any further disconnected HDMI and power.

All TV's were working great before. At this point I'm not looking for diagnostic help with the TV's. My only question is, if the cable box was defective could that cause the TV's to go out as described above? Thank You.

First I would check out the other inputs for the TV. See if they work. If they work then yes I would think if three TV's went down on the same input then the cable box might be taking them out.

Or perhaps the HDMI cable your using is shorted internally. Cheap ebay or dollar store crap!

That is possible with a intermittent short.

this does sound like a faulty hdmi lead or a converter box fault maybe feeding the hdmi port the wrong voltage etc causing the noise and shut down.

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
            by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
            1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
            2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
            3. Problem: TV shuts down

            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

The laptop was turned off because the MOSFET was not transmitting voltage. After checking it turned out that the gate pin on the MOSFET was the problem, because it was producing an inappropriate voltage. and it was discovered that the problem was with the Think engine, so I decided to reprint each pin, and finally the mosfet could work properly. However, there is another problem, even though the voltage has been supplied to the laptop, it still won't turn on, there isn't even an LED indicator. After double...

            Onboard 8GB DDR5 4xMT60B1G16HC-48B:A

Problem: This laptop was brought to the shop with the board already meddled with. Last technician (maybe without the right tools) removed an electrolytic capacitor (PCE9203) sensing resistor (PRS9801) and probably flashed both BIOS (U2802) and VBIOS(U7802).
The laptop's behavior is: When connected, it tries to power up. CPU powers on, and (allegedly) the power sequence finishes and goes to S0 (PLT_RST = 3.3V). It consumes 600mA, ramps up to 1.100 A and...
