Samsung PNC7000 HDMI and Component inputs do not work

    Hi forum,
I am having an issue with the TV not being able to recognize HDMI and Component. The TV can recognize that there is something plugged into those ports as they will light up as select able in the source menu. However when selecting an input I have a blank screen and a message that says no signal. I have reset my TV back to factory settings and I have tried leaving it unplugged for hours and the hooking everything back up. I did get a signal for about five minutes after the first time I unplugged the tv but that was it. I am thinking it is something with the Main Board but wanted some opinions first. Perhaps there is a setting somewhere that can fix this?

have you checked to see if there is / was a software update done to the set recently. Samsung did have problems with hdmi stuff back late last year.

It isn't hooked up to the net for auto updates and I don't believe there has been any updates for this model for quite some time. But perhaps I could try to install the latest one again and see if that would do anything.

I've got a PVR, Xbox 360 and a Wii U going to HDMI. Hooked up to HDMI 3, 4 and 2 respectively. I tried to update it via usb but that didn't work. the TV did not recognize an update on the flash drive. I am guessing because it is the same version that is already on the TV? I've had trouble in the past getting the ethernet port to work on this TV. Perhaps that was a symptom of a sick Main board?

the flash has to be format in the right mode. I would think that the unit should at least see the load and ask whether you want to continue but that would be too logical.

BUT looking at your first post, you indicate it can't see a component signal... what signal are you feeding it?

Well it doesn't see HDMI and component but AV/RCA still works as does the co ax cable. So as of now I am running those until I can fix the HDMI. When I test to see if a signal will work I switch between the 360, wii u and the cable box. As for the update the flash drive is Fat32 and I have the TVlausic files unzipped to the root of the drive as the instructions state.

you might want to try another format.
Further, with the component input (rgb?), you might want to check your color space settings. They should be set for rgb decoding. Still further, it is strange that an component input indicates "no signal"... have you tried switching you cable "colors" around?

It is set on rgb but now that you mention it you're right. Component does get a signal but it's a mix of colors and lines. I can get sound through that one but not a clear picture. I've also tried a few different sources through component to rule out any cable issues. PVR and 360 both do this.

ok... that "helps".... further related to this ensure "deep color" is off.
Next you say "but it's a mix of colors and lines." what do you mean... Picture? or nothing.
Post of a picture this might help. Did you try swapping "colors" (ie. green to blue, blue to red, etc) to see if things change. Further, does the set have a vga input?
