    Panasonic tc-p55ut50

I have the option to buy this tv for $80. It's missing the SS board. I've read a review from cnet but can't decide if it's worth it. Does anyone here have one?
I was thinking of replacing my 60" lg 60pv250.

Gotta wonder why the SS is missing? What else is wrong or hiding in the background.

The SS failure in these is fairly common and like all the other common board failures hard to come by and expensive.

So if it's been nicked, does that mean it was good and this TV has other issues not worth fixing?

Do you know any more than simply the SS is gone?

The seller sent the SS out to be repaired on eBay and never got the board back.
eBay refunded him the money but now I'd have to buy an ss board.
Cnet dinged it for bright room viewing.

Seller bought it new. That was the only problem. It said it used to him in that area before it went out. Still has the 3D glasses and everything.

That's pretty standard for most Plasmas especially the cheaper ones with no filter for the glare. Horses for courses.

Yeah that's pretty crook and highlights the expense of the SS having it knocked off.

I don't see much, US for $140 or UK has one well priced but 50" TNPA5623, but freight will bump that up but would need modding to fit

          I passed on it. Thanks.
I had found an exact one for $120 that included shipping.

I've had a 42 and 50 pz80u and now I have a p55gt30 so when I saw that listed in Craigslist I got excited but it seems the picture may not have been as nice as those.

Lenovo Yoga 13 Panasonic, no video, fan OK, missing voltage rail (?)
              by jaroslav.psenicka
              Hi all,

I have a Lenovo Yoga 13 Panasonic here, when powered
              • both fans spins (the sconds starts with a bit of a delay), no image neither on HDMI nor the display
              • most voltage rails seem OK (see image below, red labels)
              • resistnace to ground mostly seem OK as well (blue labels)
the only suspicious is the 0.0V rail (2nd from left, top row)
              • the resistance to ground is rather low (1.9ohm)
              • when injecting the voltage (1V), it consumes around 200mA, seems OK to me (?)
also tried new BIOS, no change
I can't find a schematics for the board - can some of you gurus look at the voltages?...

              Panasonic Heatpump Dryer Repair
              by BigPete
I picked up a Panasonic NH-P70G2, though it would apply to the NH-P80G2, NH-P70G1 and NH-P80G1 models as well, as maybe some other models. This one was coming up with a H86 error. After lots of testing and googling it was an error with one of the thermistors in the condenser area.
The attached French service manuals is incorrect, TH11 is gray and is a 95k thermistor and TH12 is black and is a 35k thermistor.
In my case TH12 was bad. I was able to get a 35k thermistor on AliExpress. It's 6mm in diameter.
Unfortunately the whole machine has to come apart to fix it.
              I have...

              820-02020 PPBUS_AON missing
              by ugamazing
Board had no history of liquid; unsure of drop history, but no signs of damage of any kind worth noting.

Charger sitting at 5v/0a. PPBUS is at 1.9v-0.9v steady cycle (peaks, drains, loops). Confirmed CHGR_EN_MVR is missing, but DCIN was reaching ISL just fine, so replaced ISL--no change at all. Confirmed pp3v8_aon is also missing--and being unsure *exactly* which signal appears first (or if they are simultaneous), I inspected PMU/U8100 area and found no shorts, but also found PP3V8_AON_MPMU_ISNS_VIN missing (not shorted). Replaced U8100 just in case (have had them fail in weird ways),...

Apple NVIDIA AGP GeForce 6800 GT Dual Link DVI+DVI outputs 603-6338 missing caps!
              by jpreza
              Hi everyone,

I recently acquired this card from a seller who was selling a PowerMac G5 for parts. He mentioned that the video card was probably broken too.

Upon closer inspection, I can tell the reason why it won't work: it's missing a bunch of CAPS! (it's also missing an inductor - 1.0uH).

It's a nice card as it's one of the few AGP cards that will support 2560 x 1600 resolution on a PowerMac G5 using a 30" Cinema Display.

Looking at the card, it appears to be missing the following:

              1x 1.0uH inductor - orange square
              2x...
