Re: LG 50PS11 plasma -top half of screen darker
I found out that jumping pins 1 and 2 of auto-gen activate the screen test pattern, which was successful. Next I un-jumpered and hooked back up the lvds cable and I had perfect TV again. After 5 minutes the picture went black and sound continued. One of the chips (the one with a heatsink) on the main A/V board seemed to be very hot to touch, so I thought the problem is likely the main a/v board. To confirm my suspicion, I jumpered pins 1 and 2 of auto-gen to bypass the main a/v board, but this time picture stayed dark with no test pattern.
So back to square one...
