Just curious if it would be prudent to keep some commonly replaced ones on hand. Other than capacitors ( I have a ton) what are the best passive components to keep on hand? Thanks.

Re: What bridge rectifier do you keep in your supply box?
GBU, GSIB ,VSIB ... cheap and easy to heatsink
VSIB640 400v 6A : http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/vsib...sib/dp/1861540
VSIB660 : http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/vsib...sib/dp/1861541
GSIB1504 400v 15a: http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/gsib...sib/dp/1861524
GBU1006 800v 10A : http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/gbu1...00v/dp/1621724
Also use to have some bridge rectifiers in DIP package or small soic style formats, for example DF06M (600v 1.5A) : http://uk.farnell.com/fairchild-semi...dip/dp/1470960
It's more expensive than 4 1n4007 diodes, but it looks much better on a prototyping board.

Haven't needed to replace a bridge-rec in over 5 years!
--It seems they are not a part that commonly fails in these parts...
In USA however--You've twice the current running through 'em and more often than not the same parts used there as here.Last edited by Alastair E; 05-05-2016, 11:21 AM.TELEFIX
