    Vizio VP422HDTV10A Plasma

    I have a VP422HDTV10A.

When plugged in the relay clicks, and Vizio emblem lights up orange. When powered on a relay clicks, and the Vizio emblem turns white. The screen does not turn on, has no faint glow, and does not flash.

Led on the control board blinks about once a second until the TV is powered on, when the relay clicks it quits flashing.

    Here are the voltages:

    PS Board:
    VS: 207.3v
    VA: 54.1v
    VG: 15.15v
    D5V: 5.25v
    A12V: 11.91v
    VAMP: 11.91v
    5VSB: 5.33v

    XSUS Board:
    VS: 207.3v
    VE: 95.4v
    VSS: 95.4v

    YSUS Board:
    VSCH: -101.1v
VSCAN: -108.9v, when powered on jumps to -190v
    VCC: 15.16v
    VA: 54.1v
    VS: 207.3v

I have checked all the fuses, they are less than 1 ohm.
I unplugged the y main, there was no change. Unplugged the x main, no change.
I have noticed there is a noise coming from either the y main, of y buffer. It sounds like an evacuation alarm like you hear in the movies, but not very loud.
I am stumped. Where do I go from here?
    Thanks

    Re: Vizio VP422HDTV10A Plasma

Found a blown fuse, and a bad cap on the main board, replaced both. Still no picture or sound. TV powers up. relay clicks, stays on for about 45 seconds, then shuts down.

When I checked before the vscan was at -108.9v with the power off, and jumped to -190 when the tv was powered on.
The vscan is now pulsing from -10v to -19v. I can hear a transformer pulsing on the power supply. It is the one on the top right of the power supply with the blue on it.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this.

Check those 3 pin small regulators like U21 and U22 etc that make is famous for regulator issues. There some bigger regulators on that board too.Whatever fuse and cap you found bad trace those circuits to the nearest regulator etc.

I guess I should clarify it was the F2 fuse on the main board.

              All regulators check out good.
Does anyone have a service manual with a parts list for this model?

              Thanks

Leave the lvds cable disconnected(cable between the mainboard and the control board) and bridge pin 3 and 4 on the control board(see group of 4 little pins on control board?). Then plug in tv,if all is well it should then give you test patterns on the screen in a loop.
